I love flick of the finger, this one not so much..I think BE will be a good album, but then again I liked DGSS and it was criticised quite a lot.

I think Liam's vocals sound superb but judging on the 30 second clip alone and I'm not impressed. Not big enough a step forward I'm afraid and it sounds like a typical Gem Archer 'cool' dad rock impression - stuck in a time way way back (that's who I'm predicting wrote it for the majority). Not holding my breath but hoping I'll be proved completely wrong, and be surprised like I was with Flick of the Finger (which IS a fantastic track). But hey, Travis unveil a new song on the Tuesday so I'll probably have something to fall back on. Remember how good the 30 second samples sounded of DGSS? It'll be the opposite this time  I hope I do hope you're right cloudburster. I was thinking about that myself, perhaps why I'm so sceptical! |

To me there isn't much to sink your teeth into with the 30 second sample. I like the horns at the end. I'm still loving FOTF. Sounds bad ass while turning up the volume in your car. |

just heard the complete song and i can honestly say that the clip doesn't do it any justice. Liam sounds menacing and the guitar licks, just like on FOTF, are amazing. Can get a bit repetitive though..

It's quite interesting that despite the Gallaghers' adoring embrace of any and every fucking vaginay example of bollocking profanity in their general conversation, they've, for the most part, avoided any kind of explicit lyrical content in their long recording career (with only a few minor and tame exceptions).
I don't think BE will rival Straight Outa Compton for 'colourful' language somehow...
As for the samples, nobody can conclusively judge them until we hear the tracks in their entirity. Flick of the Finger has worked its magic on me after repeated listens- whilst not a classic by any means, it is a solid slice of cool that draws you in slowly.
SBOTA I'm not yet feeling from the short snippet I've heard; I agree that it has a 'Gem Heavy Stereo glam' kinda vibe which is worrying but who knows?- it might be an absolute corker. And even after tomorrow, disdain for the track will be matched in equal measure by adoration on this forum. Good times. Wait and see...

I've woken up with the melody on my brain this morning despite only listening to the sample 3 times. I think that's a good sign, though I really wish I'd abstained from listening to it so I could hear the whole thing properly without prejudice.

I think there's more to come, the band described it as "the one Sitek changed the most". I am not blown away by the snippet but its hard to make a judgement.

I'm very excited. Liam sounds great. However the melody sounds pretty dull and to production sounds very boring. I expected a WIGWAM style spacey vibe.
I'm sure the full song will be much better.
Does anyone think it'll leak tonight at midnight?

Not long now, signs and vibes are good for the whole album, a friend of mine has had the privilege of hearing it all, only the once and she says its impressive but there's all sorts going on so it requires a few listens.
