..with the promotion so far? Maybe i'm expecting too much, but the whole stem idea on the website got my hopes up for something exciting and that kept the hype up. But since then it's been pretty much downhill. There was the whole single mix-up (we still haven't had an official word about whether it was supposed to be played on US radio or not, but i guess that's moot now), and according to Zane Lowe we are supposedly getting a new track on the 29th, yet there has been no official announcement from the band! (And don't get me started on the flick of the finger clip, the song is great but if you are releasing a first single and want to build up the hype, the bare minimum is to upload in HD...). I mean we are apparently a week away from a new single and a month and a bit away from a new album, yet over the past few days there has hardly been any excitement on this forum, which to me indicates a lack of something up till now. Hopefully all my moaning will be proven wrong by an official announcement later in the day  Those were my two cents. Anybody else feel the same? |

Feel the same that I've become less hyped in the past few days... They definitely should have confirmed that Flick of the Finger isn't the official single and that the official single would be getting played on 29th of April as soon as it leaked IMO

The website/stems thing would have been alot more exciting had that radio station not already played Flick of the Finger before it was supposed to be played. I'm as excited for the album as anyone here, but it's pretty obvious by now that the management team screwed up a few times.. The lack of official announcements is the only thing that really bugs me, as alot of what we've been listening to is either incorrect rumors (ex. Zane Lowe's mixup or the confusion over single) or fake song leaks, etc. But in the end it doesn't matter whatsoever to me as long as the music is good.
Bring on the 29th!

Well the album's out in June, so they're wanting from us some patience I guess
But I do hope the promotion would fire up again after the second song release in 29th.

It's been revealed in a weird manner, but we have gotten a brand new song, artwork and tracklist in the past couple of weeks, with another one supposedly coming in a week, so I guess we just gotta be patient.

I am a bit confused about all the excitement leading to an announcement of a single to be played in 2 weeks then hardly anything since.
I suppose they couldn't have maintained that level of intrigue for 7 weeks though. There had to be a lull at some point. The US radio leak lead to a definite anticlimax.
There might be something planned ahead of the single. They still haven't announced which track it'll be. We only know that we are going to hear something in 7 days.
Lets wait and see if they do anything for that.

Why does there need to be a build up to a radio premier? The Internet is the best "radio station" in the world. I'd much prefer to just wake up on a random morning and see the track posted on YouTube, soundcloud, iTunes, twitter, Facebook, etc. To me that's exciting. Beady Eye are doing just fine during this initial promo cycle. The people on this forum are fired up by FOTF, the album cover rocks and we have a track listing plus some gigs. More importantly.....we all desire more!

I think people need to chill. It took three weeks from Noel's press conference for us to hear TDOYAM and then that wasn't available to buy until 3 weeks later - and things worked out okay for the chief, from a sales POV!
I just get the impression that in this digital age people can expect a bit too much. We've had album name, date, tracklisting, artwork and pre orders, we've heard one tune which is available for download. That's more than enough at this point in the cycle anyhow, so if we do get an official single next week and its pretty much instantly available to pre order then I'd say we're above expectations.
