Aye I've read that interview. I believe the trade-off was Liam singing Wonderwall?
Liam should have sang everything on Morning Glory tbh. And Be Here Now. People point to the quota system as a negative; I like most of LAG's songs but the trade off we got where Liam sang less was an unfortunate consequence.

Aye I've read that interview. I believe the trade-off was Liam singing Wonderwall? I believe so, although the accounts of how that was decided vary a fair bit. I did manage to find one other reference to Liam singing the song (whether or not this was during the Rockfield sessions or not is not clear. But that is one possible context for the conversation Noel recalls here). Noel on DLBIA... 'When I gave [Liam] Don't Look Back in Anger he's singing, 'But don't back in anger, not today.' I'm saying, 'It's don't look back in anger. 'He's saying, 'Well, that's not what's fuckin' written 'ere, chief'' Surprisingly, this exchange did not lead to the usual fraternal punch-up but served as confirmation to Noel of his dyslexia.' Just to clarify, I'd have left Magic Pie off BHN and put Stay Young on there Magic Pie is a great song, so is Stay Young. I agree it should have been on the album but not in place of Magic Pie. Agreed as long as the lp is I would have loved both on ... Had Noel not been so heavy into the gear as he so readily admits maybe he would have cut down the solos and had the songs a bit shorter thus adding stay young woulda been cool |

Maybe a epic double lp. Or something like GNR did with illuision 1 and 2. Wat ya think Side note. Love the player ism of lib and great pic of George. Haven t seen ya on much was gonna pm. Cool pic.
