I think about this sometimes and every day it's something different, but it usually comes down to these albums for me:
Definitely Maybe - Oasis The Stone Roses - The Stone Roses Blood On the Tracks - Bob Dylan Foo Fighters - There Is Nothing Left to Lose A Rush of Blood to the Head - Coldplay
I'm probably gonna get torn apart for those choices but that's just my opinion

What in your opinion is the best album ever made? for me vv Highway 61 Revisited Hey before I give a shout out ...let me just say this NOT a knock on you or your thread at all........But John William Anglin you are so adept at finding and sending me my " greatest hits " shall we say for lack of a better phrase .. But how about looking up how many times this question has been posed thru the years ? Not to knock the thread at all..but to show how subjective and meaningless it is as I guarantee you if anyone responds to this thread who has in the past they will for the most part give a different answer , Not because a newer lp replaced it but because a lp has at that moment in time affected them more If we are being serious there are times when most us believe a lp is best ,,for me it's physical graffiti. ....but there are times I say the wall....or revolver ect ect ..there is no right answer even for those who give a well thought out opinion , not just being a fan That's your homework John William Anglin. Just as you find all my nuggets see if you can find that ...I would love to see how the taste of some of the members myself included have changed over time Doesn't mean the answer now , then , or in future is wrong ...just proves this thread has no real answer ... Even to those who think they know now , bet 6 to 8 out of ten would / will have different answer in 3 years

britishlove case in point I bet if he goes thru the threads in past you with that unreal varied taste will have a different answer then. As you just posted ... And I know that is one of your favs , but I'd be willing to bet even if that is your fav you had a different answer in 05 or later. I am not saying that is not your opinions best just sayin with your taste I bet you didn't give same answer and the lp you picked was around when the question was posed , not talkin a new lp that was not made before zep 2

a part for What's the story? morning glory I think that album like Revolver,Sgt.Pepper,Tommy,Wish you were here,Dark side of the moon, the wall,Never mind the bollocks,Led Zeppelin II-IV are the best Then to me there are album like Def Maybe,The queen is dead, the Stone Roses and more that are amazing, but they aren't at the same livel of the others cos the others are considered the best by a big part of the public opinion

I've never loved every single song on an album so no perfect one's for me......Nirvana's Nevermind is close, and The Rolling Stones' Let It Bleed and Sticky Fingers albums are also really close to perfection.
God bless

I don't think I can select a 'best ever' but these pretty much come as close to perfection as possible for me at least... Oasis - Morning Glory Oasis - Definitely Maybe Pink Floyd - Animals Pink Floyd - The Dark Side Of The Moon The Beatles - The Beatles (White Album) <<<True perfection has to be imperfect! The Beatles - Abbey Road

I've always enjoyed playing Rubber Soul and Revolver back to back. Two phenomenal albums with great production. I remember George Harrison saying he almost considers these to be part of the same album, like a volume 1 and 2. The Beatles were killing it creatively during this era (i guess all eras really).

I agree that both are great albums, but for some reason I don't quite understand why some people say Rubber Soul is their best album. It has some of their best songs on that album for sure, but to me it seems like it has more filler on it than Revolver. Still a great album but idk, to me it feels like it has more filler songs than other Beatles albums.
