Hello! First words here... Some years following this forum. Cheers from an Spaniard who lives in Germany!
1. Four Letter Word 2. Wigwam 3. The Beat Goes On 4. In the Bubble With a Bullet 5. The Morning Son 6. The Roller 7. Flick of the Finger
I really love my Top 6 here and being more a Noel fan than a Liam one I prefer Beady Eye's debut than the High Flying Birds album...

But its a liam song, and that make its pretty much a beady eye song, some people compared fotf with other post oasis song, so i did it with some liams/oasis tracks... Bottom line, both are shit imo Btw i dont know if liam wrote this one, but to me its obvious he did, cant see andy writting something like this, maybe gem...

The Meaning of Soul is like 9 years old or something and Flick of the Finger was originally a Liam song but Andy and Gem changed, put horns on and wrote the lyrics...

flick of the finger is light years better than anything we've heard on their sorry try to make an album from two years ago. funnily enough, the best thing beady eye came up with was a cover (sons of the stage), i really loved that one. the rest was forgettable and mostly plain boring. i haven't listen to the album in ages, cos there's nothing that sparks my interest anymore. i can't even recall most of the songs on the album. the roller was alright, the beat goes on was alright for a while, but didn't age well (even after two years).
flick of the finger in contrast totally gets me everytime i listen to it! wasn't too sure about it in the beginning, but it did grow on me immensely. it's stuck in my head, a thing a i can't say about a song from their first album (apart from sons of the stage). i'm really looking forward to the album thanks to flick of the finger.

I think it's good, probably one of the better 50% of BDI's tunes. But unfortunately, the worst opening track of a Gallagher album: 1. DYKWIM 2. RNR* 3. Hello 4. THT 5. BIU 6. 4LW 7. TUTS 8. EOTR 9. FITB 10.FOTF Btw, those songs... Incredibly good and fierce competition for Flick Of The Finger .

its more an intro than a song to me. They made it ok but the tune is pretty lazy if you ask me

The production doesn't sound lazy, Liam's commitment to the vocals doesn't sound lazy and the lyrics themselves are decent enough. Don't understand why you would say its lazy. Sounds like they worked pretty hard on it to me.

I would say Beady Eye are off to a roaring start, especially if Zane Lowe plays another new Beady Eye song with killer production. I feel the bands new found passion thus far.

It's lazy because it drags for 3.30 mins with only one melody line. It would be ok and acceptable on a 1.30 mins intro, but it's just too long. Dont get me wrong, i like it, but it's too fuckin long.

I like it as it is. No need to change anything.
I wonder if Second bite of the Apple and Soul Love are going to be future singles.

I wonder if Second bite of the Apple and Soul Love are going to be future singles. Considering what they said in that interview, highlighting those songs, I think it's a fair bet.

I'm still quite hyped up about it being new, so I don't think I could give a balanced judgement of where it sits just now.
I think it would be good as an instrumental for the band to come on to, like a Fuckin' in the Bushes/The Swamp Song type thing.

At the monent it would be something like: 1. Wigwam 2. Morning Son 3. Four Letter Word 4. Flick of the Finger 5. In The Bubble With A Bullet I tried to put it in perspective considering it has the emotion of being new. However, no other track from Beady Eye has got me more hooked than FOTF. This is the only song that has made me compulsively want to listen to it again and again. Exactly what happened to me. And exactly the same ranking!

somehow people saying a song is lazy, just because it's moving with one melody is weird.... wou don't need a chorus in every song. imagen "tomorrow never knows" would have a chorus? Just in C all the way through and even the drums stay in the same pattern for the whole song. thats something you are allowed to do in psychedelic music... but maybe it's just my love in "trance" tunes like these or the hidden gem "take them on, on your own" (the track not the album!) by BRMC

You can understand why - tis the Oasis template after all to have big anthemic choruses.
But that doesn't mean that's right all of the time. This is one of those moments.
