About the in-between albums single. "Boy with the blues" if I remember correctly. Anybody remember if it was supposed to be out before or after the 2nd b-sides album? This is concerning the prospect of increasing the number of tunes to choose from for the next b-side album.
Also there is at least one more single from DBTT in store. WTSMG had six singles. DM, BHN and HC had four each and SOTSOG had three.
Of course it's just speculations (as always) but maybe we get more than four singles this time plus the independent one so noel has something to choose from for the b-side album.
Any thoughts?

Yep, I have a thought... how are we gonna see a second "B-Side" album when Oasis almost certainly WON'T be resigning with Sony, however the Sony label owns the publishing rights to all of the songs?

I don't think Noel would have mentioned the second b-side album if he didn't have an agreement with sony. They wouldn't even be able to put out a greatest album if you are right. You could be right I don't know. George Harrison fucked it up for himself ...too many labels and now his greatest tunes are split onto two albums.

Noel has said in the past that making deals with Sony is like making a deal with the devil. Sony represents all that Noel hates about the music business... still, there are A LOT of great tunes that could be on a "Masterplan II" if you will... However once Oasis signs on the dotted line with another label I bet Sony would really tuck it to them and make it almost impossible to get at those songs, without handing over large amounts of $$$

WTSMG had six singles. DM, BHN and HC had four each and SOTSOG had three. Not to be nitpicky but you are a bit off with your stats, as regards the UK anyway: DM had 4 singles (Supersonic, Shakermaker, Live Forever, C&A), then Whatever was released as a standalone single. MG had 4 singles (Some Might Say, Roll With It, Wonderwall, DLBIA). BHN had only 3 singles (DYKWIM, Stand By Me, AATW - Don't Go Away was an import from Japan but bever actually released in Britain). SOTSOG did indeed have 3 (GLIO, Who Feels Love?, Sunday Morning Call). HC did indeed have 4 (Hindu Times, SCYHO, LBL, Songbird). The band never tend to release more than 4 singles from any one album. Any more than that comes over as a bit of overkill. Also, the amount of singles they release, I believe, stems directly from how much they are enjoying the album and how well received it is. For their Big Two albums, when they were getting all the raves, they went as far as 4, but during the critical slump only managed 3 before coming back with HC. As DBTT has done so well for them, I think if Boy With The Blues gets released it'll be as another Whatever - i.e. they will release one more DBTT track and then Boy With The Blues 3 or 4 months after that.

I'm pretty sure I remember Noel said something in the webcast about buying back the rights to alot of the songs from Sony or something.

It would be good thing to everybody. Any clue how much those rights can be cost

yeah it would be a shame they couldn't release the b-sides album because of sony. still I think they should never go back to sony. they fuck up all the publicity. oasis doesn't get the amount of exposure they deserve and that's mostly because of sony.....
