Has anyone actually read this???:
"(...)new tune Flick Of The Finger which, if the world hasn’t ended, will go live a few days after you read this. Deriving from an old Liam demo of a song called Velvet Building – “It was on cassette, that’s how long ago it was,” says Gem – it was briefly mooted for the aborted, Death In Vegas-produced Oasis album in 2004, but has now been completely reinvented and retitled, with new words by Andy and Gem(...)"
On a side note, they're kind of still recycling leftover Oasis material...

Imagine a song with Liam's melody, Andy's lyrics and Gem's guitar work.

The songs on BE in Beady Eye's own words:
1. Flick of the Finger Liam: "we had to go first with it. I get a bit of an I wanna be adored vibe" Andy: "to me, it's a Gimme Shelter moment"
2. Soul Love Liam: "This started as a songbird-y thing, but I changed it the night before we recorded it"
3. Face The Crowd Liam: "face the crowd is f*cking....." Gem: "a banger"
4. A Second Bite of the Apple Liam: "this is the one Sitek changed the most .... There's a lot more magic on this album"
5. Soon Come Tomorrow Andy: "one of my tunes, a bit of a quieter, slower thing" Liam: "great tune Hendrix-y"
6. Iz Rite Liam: "The Beatles on E"
7. I'm Just Saying Andy: "anyone longing for a bit of Morning Glory-era oasis, this is for them"
8. Don't Brother Me Liam: "it's a beautiful f*cking song and I like the title. I didn't want to change it"
9. Shine a Light Andy: "the intro to this we called 'the scarface bit": like an old black and white movie. Very Dramatic"
10. Ballroom Figured Liam: "it's a bit marley to me. Redemption song. Beautiful."
11. Start Anew Andy:"my favourite vocal on the album. It's an epic: starts off as an acoustic tune then ends up as like Neil young in boca juniors' stadium in 35C heat, with fireworks going off."

new song got me really excited for the album, but this interview doesnt. Liam's always funny as fuck, but the band talking about the songs.. is kinda too much. and those lyrics are very annoying. that give peace a chance line.. I hope he was joking around. I just hope the albums is a blast.
and by the way, 'wanker of the week' goes to ''Ash_&_Debris''. never ceases to amaze me how some people can think.

So Andy equates FOTF with Gimmie Shelter.
This band is completely hopeless.

I just masterbated to Flick of The Finger.... With a flick of the finger? That's a new technique The original demo version was titled 'Flick of the Bean' and ended with a vocal sample from a Sasha Grey porno. True story.

Really not liking the "Iz Rite" title... what's all that about?... Still, it's not about song titles I suppose, I thought Soldier Boys and Jesus Freaks was going to be terrible because it seemed such a weird name for a song but it's actually a pretty good song imo

Complete bullshit. Never listen to an artist talk about their own songs.
DGSS was meant to contain Hendrix-esque guitars. Like fuck it did.

You'd figure they'd learn to be a bit more modest after the DGSS experience. Let's play "What would Gem say?" shall we?: A Tiger doesn't change his stripes."? Or should we go with "can't teach an old dog new tricks."?

Literally zero point in judging anything based on song titles or what the band says about it. No band is going to slag off their own work - it's their livelihood, they have a vested interest in promoting it.
A title can't make or break a song - (What's the Story) Morning Glory, were it released in the internet age with pre-judgment of the song titles, would probably have a number of people snickering.
Not saying don't get excited or upset if you want, but it's all rather meaningless until we hear it (and obviously this doesn't apply to FOTF since we've heard it).

As far as the usual bluster goes I don't really get why people take such issue with it. The England football team always say they have a chance of winning the World Cup, every film star's latest work is the greatest of their career. We listened to Noel for years telling us that his new tune was the bollocks and like The Kinks doing The La's doing The Who. People talk up things they a proud or excited about and we provide the pinch of salt.

Don't brother me sounds like Little James part II. I cringed reading those lyrics. I thought his voice was better in DGSS compared to the latter Oasis albums. So they're going back to the rough in your face Heathen Chemistry era sound - worst news ever. Liam sounds his worst when he tries to deliver that type of vocals. It especially isn't gonna mix well with the psychedelic experimental sound they're taking their music in, Liam's voice should be dreamy and blend in with the music, not stand out and be "in your face". I don't like BE as an album title much but it definitely beats "Universal Gleam" - glad Chris had the balls to shut that down. They're also talking like FOTF is one of the greatest things they've ever done - doesn't bode that well for the rest of the album does it? As for the FOTF/Kill Switch/1st single confusion - my guess is that they're one and the same track. And that FOTF IS the first single. Zane is under the impression that the track is called Kill Switch so when people asked him if FOTF is the 1st single - not having heard FOTF, he looked in his notes and saw "Kill Switch" as the name of the track and mistakenly announced that its a different song. It should be pretty clear from all the info we have from variety of sources that FOTF IS Kill Switch. It makes too much sense for it to not be so. just wait for the song .... and yeah his voice sounds totally rough at "Flick of the finger" compared to Heathen Chemistry era.. (sarcasm off)
