seems there are 2 camps of ppl on this one.. Personally I enjoy Liam's voice now. it has evolved overtime we'll all agree. Now Liam , doesn't he himself like his vox on BHN ? 1995 was a golden year indeed, but now I listen to songs such as "Better man", BOADC, songbird, GGTIA, LTBL, even TUTS, etc etc and I like what I hear.. actually I just really DIG IT ! nuff said..

I don't see why. He can barely sing it. He's monotone/ off key . Sounds out of breath. And can't do any of the old songs.
He's lost a lot of range, breath, ability to hold notes, and all in all the ability to sing so uniquely and well like he use to, and thus hes ability to communicate the music to the people as effectively as he use to with his voice.

Yeah...I always hate reading about people who make posts that say "liams voice is shit" but now i'm saying it too...his studio recordings still sound pretty good, but live he's got an almost kermit the frog thing going on...and its just depressing since he used to be so damn good...

If Liam sang live the way he sings in studio, I'd love it. I still say the band were at the top of their live-show game during the BHN tour... Maybe not so much in the song-writing capacity, but the live shows just sound AMAZING. What I'd really like is Liams singing from 1997-98, Noel's from today (listen to the way he sings Acquiesce now, versus how he does it at the Boston Orpheum gig), and the guitar sound that they've had all the time... And the drum sound that got recorded for Bring It On Down... Imagine Morning Glory or Lyla with a drum track that sounded that good (not saying the real ones aren't, but just the SOUND of the drums, not the actual playing)...

I can respect both of his voices then and now both top That's called sitting on the fence... Has anyone seen the Gleneagles 94 Live Forever on tv? Liam's voice is so different to the way he would sing it now. I'd have to go for the older live voice.

You can hear the change on Familiar to Millions, and that was over 5 years ago. Supernova is almost painful when liam's singing it... just so raspy.

I think that he can sound more like what he used to live if he wants to. Just listen to him singing Wonderwall a few months ago at the Tsunami Radio Aid event. He's not forcing his singing there as much as he does at an actual concert, and it sounds different. It's not that raspy at all. I think it has a lot to do with how he chooses to sing. He's said himself that he doesn't really like the way he used to sing back in the early days. Don't get me wrong, I like the way he sings now for the most part, but I just think that it's partly his own doing. I don't think he could hit all the high notes he used to anymore unless he went to a vocal coach or something, but I do think that he could change it if he wanted to.

Thing is that we are lucky that his voice changed or not is better than anyother rock stars. Bar none. Let's just hope he doesn't do a 180 where people can recognize it anymore. Kinda like steven tyler of aerosmith. Now you have two very distinct voices.
I personally think liam intentionally tries to change it. If you look at the familiar to millions dvd he mentions that he hates the way his voice sounded on DM. In his own mind he has improved. To me, it's still fuckin liam.
