isn't the intro a bit different? i haven't listened to them both back to back, but on the album version, isn't there a lot of odd backround noise and whatnot?

They made the intro longer and more like the one that they've been playing on the current tour... The drums and guitars are louder and more full sounding, and if you listen really carefully, you can hear Noel soloing over everything for the entire song, which is next to impossible to hear on the original... I like the new version better...

If you can, get a hold of the actual cd. It's much easier to hear the differences between the mixes than with an mp3. In general, I've found the things in the background to be much more clear on the new mix than on the original. It seems less muddy and has less distortion.

What did they do with the entire WTSMG mixing/mastering in general? For a long time now, I have felt that the entire album has sort of, i dunno, a "glaze" over it, the songs don't sound CRISP. What I mean by this is that if you play the album at a loud volume, (as I do when I DJ a gig), it is even more noticeable with the treble being way down in the mud, you can really notice it on Roll With It, at the end, Liams vocals and the guitar wall and eveything else eventually sounds like one flat tone... same thing on Morning Glory... but then you throw on DBTT and every thing is nice and crisp, including the roaring guitars on TUTS, MF and KTDA... does anyone get what I'm trying to say.
I suspect that WTSMG was made like that on purpose, though... In contrast, the next album after WTSMG, BHN, the treble and clarity is CRANKED
Don't get me wrong, WTSMG is still one of the GREATEST albums EVER.

Thats why Dave Sardy's sounds SO much Cleaner.

And the one I totaly forgot to mention off of WTSMG was Some Might Say, I think there is poor mastering on that one... doesn't sound clean, it sounds like it was dubbed from tape to tape to tape a few times, like it is a third-generation copy or something...

I ALSO SAID that the album was likely mastered like that on purpose.... don't get your diaper all shitty over it, I was just pointing out the difference between the mastering sound of WTSMG and the rest of the albums... That's all I'll say, I'm not gonna get involved in a flame with a zit-faced shitehead who is barely out of high school. Hit the bricks, kid.
