Classic case of if this was happening in New York. The Giants are by no means a Cinderella. they have the 6 th highest payroll in baseball so they are supposed to be in position every year to CONTEND , however not all big money teams do contend , .... If this was ny and they win the series , this wil be there 3rd in what 4 or 5 years i forget I believe 4 years ,that's a dynasty , I hope it's acknowledged as one the way it would be if my yanks did this ...,,,AGAIN Im a bit foggy Robert Van Winkle Sternumman (your the stat man I know you know these things ) how many teams in modern era. 69 on have 3 in 4 years ? Off top of my head , the A's ( 3 in row ) the yanks ( 3 in row 4 in 5 years). The rest , the Reds which are considered a dynasty 2 in row , the jays 2 in row , the cards have been on a run but not 3 in 4 years if memory serves. If this was New York it would be all over espn , power of nyc I guess , but whole world ( USA ) should recognize , again it's not magical run they are 6 th highest payroll so no Cinderella dynasty , but I'm impressed if they pull it off. , and im rooting for them. I can't stand kc. For old hate reasons I haven't heard anyone call the Giants a Cinderella team this season. Especially coming off winning 2 World Series in the last 4 years. The Royals, now there is a Cinderella story! A shit manager and a team that had no business beating the Athletics in the wild card game. Kansas City is on a heater and you never walk away when sitting on a heater.

I was saying your not hearing the word dynasty thrown around yet ...if this was the Yankees with that 2 wS titles in 4 years going on 3 in 5 you would be though , I was saying they are no Cinderella story there real deal , but there not being covered like it nationally .....of course kc is Cinderella. Was not my point however .... Just saying the Giants outside of sf and hardcore fan seem like Rodney dangerfield

I happen to think Giants are a great team , mad dog must be over the moon As for the kc manager. He's as bad as it goes , yet that idiot will be in line for a job if/ when kc is fires him because of this ..which is a joke

Not one of Richard and sals best. the thing is i don't think they were prepared to be on as long as they were, i mean he said it over and over and over, repeatedly.... the 'host' actually went along with it the first time! ('sure!') .... a finger of shame to that guy for not knowing enough about his local sports teams/players names to quickly head that off at the pass. another finger of shame to the producer for letting him go on for as long as he did... i wonder if he/she still has a job. and does that station even have a 7-8 second delay?

Can see him there Ozzie in LA? No fucking chance. Andrew Friedman likes a calm presence. Not a loud mouth. Donnie is making way too much money the next 2 years to just fire now. Besides, the Dodgers lost because their best pitcher got beat in the biggest moments. That's baseball.

The 2 year deal left is all that is probably he got go b1 more year , it's aws title or he will be bought out of final year , guarantee thou on that. Tne la media is ripping his decision on those pitching moves " non moves " espn analysts thought he made mistake tnere big time , the owner wasnt enthralled with the extension anyway , you may be right this year though cause of the 2 years left. , they will eat the last year though if he don't win , Never saw him as a manager tbh .....maybe Ozzie is a reach but he would love la ..... there are a few calmer guys. Who knows if the Orioles dip ....... How perfect would buck be there , talk about calm

Now this changes all just read ( I didn't realize this ) maddon only has 1 year left on tampa contract ...he's very very tight with Friedman , friedman has confirmed mattingly will be skipper this year , but let's face it ...if they don't win with that payroll and maddon is out of contract , you don't got to be a genius to read tea leaves

I went to some batting cages last friday to hit a few balls...i stopped playing organized baseball after 13 year old babe ruth league, and stopped playing after that basically because I didn't hit my growth spurt until my late teens. so that was almost 25 years ago. anyway, i talked to the kid working at the batting cages for a little while and told him i played, etc.....i hit on the 45 mph machine, the slowest speed other than slow pitch softball; i lost all credibility after that. God bless. hit the batting cages again last night.... started off with a HBP because the machine wasn't working right and I wasn't ready, didn't hurt. I was using the 45 mph machine and the balls used aren't real baseballs, I don't know what they are, I haven't really investigated them, some sort of plastic. I only hit twenty balls. my main reason for going was to investigate the new innovation in bat technology. apparently new metal bats have lower handles that spin to create more bat speed...I personally didn't see much difference. God bless.

I haven't used a wood bat in a long time, have to try one out next time. God"bless.

Looks like Rays ready for decline I'd be shocked if he doesn't end up with Cubs. One of the best front offices, best young up and coming team, and great city. Makes sense if Cubs wants to win World Series in next 5 years which is Theo's plan. You need an experienced manager for that. Renteria is not that guy.

People like to jerkoff over Matt Harvey but as I always say, Madison Bumgarner is 5 months younger, has won 2 World Series (possibly a 3rd in the coming days) been an all-star, has won 60+ games in the show, pitched 200 innings 4 straight seasons and has legendary postseason numbers.
Matt Harvey has never even pitched a full season in the bigs. Let's chill people.

If Bochy is planning on pitching Bumgarner at some point tonight, he might as well let him start the game and scare all those Royals hitters.

That's what I hate about today's athlete They have brought them up with pitch counts because of big money 2 pitchers off top of head that won wS games on 2 days rest ...mickey lolIich in 68 i think. And Koufax , both threw complete games. but today they can't. And athletes are bigger , stronger , however there arms are weaker because of pitch counts , sux

Lennon2217. Interesting fact , in prior post i said athlete. Because same applies to horses back in the day , horses ran like 6 times a month and can run for distance , In fact citation who won the triple crown in 1958 was beat the week before the Kentucky derby in a prep race ...... It was common for the stAr horses to run a week before triple crown races and run races some at 2 miles!! Now tneywo t run a horse that good 5 weeks before derby let alone 1 wk. , they have bred the horse to the point of fragility. Lke the pitcher in baseball ... And they are athletes as secretariat made the all century list
