What does that matter? Noel Gallagher thinks The Beach Boys are shit, yet he finds the time for awful awful dross like The Enemy and Twisted Wheel who supported Oasis. That's right Noel, because The Enemy's Music For The People (putrid title) is just superior in every way to Pet Sounds.... For me personally, going to those stadium gigs in 2009 and experiencing The Enemy and Twisted Wheel would have made me think the ground had just opened up beneath me and I was in the depths of hell with 60,000 other sinners. I love Arctic Monkeys too, but for gods sake, let us express our appreciation of other music apart from the narrowly defined tastes of typical Oasis fans. I got no problems with people expressing their appreciation of whatever music they like mate, i just objected to the 'makes oasis look like children' comment, that's all. but when Noel made that comment about the Beach boys he was on about his top bands ever and how they wouldn't make his top ten. They wouldn't make my top ten either to tell you the truth but mine would be similar to Noel's, mainly made up of British bands. Defo not The Enemy or Twisted Wheel either though i agree.  |

Of the songs we know were played, that's a little disappointing. He played all of those songs at the last TCT except COO and Supersonic, and Supersonic he's been playing more on his last tour. So much for "This is a big deal so I have to use a different setlist"

No kidding. Although playing the same setlist looks boring and uninspired, i think it somehow contributes to picture him as a suprahuman legend. Think about it, it gives a sense of stability, it's like the prophet speaking the same bunch of universal truths from place to place, and not going down to the mundane world where everything is unperfect and constantly changing.
It's like... it's noel. He comes and goes from place to place with the same bunch of divine works.
He is critiziced for not changing the setlist and not behaving like a showman at stage. But that would look too human. Too terrenal.
But there is a balanced point. He should change one or two songs, some unpredictable and lovely b-sides. That will add more mystery.
Yah im high.
