Personally I find them one of the less spectacular bands about, relying on a different sound and indie image, rather than actual interesting and quality music.
I'm judging all this from the single and Dye it Blonde, which to me, felt pretty watered down.

Varsity is excellent. Dye It Blonde is easily one of my favorite albums over the past 5 years. They have a knack at writing just fantastic pop songs. I can't wait for this album, I expect big things from these guys and at their age I can only hope their success continues to grow.

I love love love this band. Sadly they broke up late last year. Guitarist left the band and the two brothers didn't want to keep it going.
All three of their albums are great. Dye It Blonde is one of my favorite albums of the past ten years. I really can't recommend them enough, especially to Oasis fans because the bands gift for melody is very similar to Noel's. Over the course of their three albums, there really isn't a shit tune on any of them.Varsity remains one of my favorite songs of all time. Just a little break down for each album.
Smith Westerns - Lofi and charming garage rock/pop. A lot of people will be turned off by the production, but if you actually listen these songs are fucking incredible (Be My Girl, Tonight, The Glam Goddess to name a few). Shame of of these songs didn't get better treatment in the studio but the ramshackle production suits them. Just sad to see people get turned away from great songs because the production is a bit too noisy, but this is coming from a White Light White Heat fan.
Dye It Blonde - Simply one of the best (lead) guitar records of the past decade. Production takes a massive step forward. Oasis melodies with T-rex glam riffage. Songwriting goes beyond the simple pop structures of the the first record. A great Friday night staying in with a bunch of friends drinking record. I'm definitely a fan boy of this record but from 2010 onwards its in my top five. It's that good. Every song is spot on.
Soft Will - Garage pop - to glam rock - and now with their final album they show shades of 70's album rock. It is definitely a more mellow record compared to their previous two. A grower album in a sense, because it lacks the excitement of the first two records. Still has some really interesting songs like Fool Proof. A more personal side to the band with great ballads like 3am Spiritual and White Oath. You've got some great anthems in Idol, Best Friend, and Varsity.
Probably the most underrated band from 09-13. RIP guys
