Ya know, i always thought this was a good tune...good lyrics, cool melody...a stronger version of Where Did it all go wrong.
I also LOVE the Fame.
Some excellent Bsides realy...anyone agree?

I love the lyrics on Flashbax.
I'm pretty sure it will be on 'The Masterplan 2' or whatever they will call it.

I think Flashbax is a great song, it shoulda been on The Masterplan Well it was on the AATW single, so it was after the Mayerplan was released, but I see where you are coming from. Its a cool song that will definitely make an appearance on the upcoming B-Sides compilation.

No mate, The Masterplan came out AFTER the AATW single had been released (after all the BHN singles had long come and gone). Noel said recently that a new B-sides compilation would only include B-sides from SOTSOG onwards, so those tunes might not get on after all. A shame for them not to get wider exposure - The Fame and Flashbax are both strong B-sides, no doubt about that.

Good point on the wider exposure, hopefully they'll put them on the new one.

Good point on the wider exposure, hopefully they'll put them on the new one. Hopefully. Apparently Liam was meant to sing Flashbax but he went on a bit of a bender and his voice was fucked. I would have liked to hear it with him singing, would have been cool.

Ah yes Flashbax. The haunting whistle always gave me the chills. "In my well paid opinion / These things they really don't matter / But from my crystal gazing eye / There shines a light, like dynamite."
I don't know why The Fame always gets trashed on here. It wasn't Noel's finest moment as a lyricist, but it's a great Oasis track with the classic sound.

hmm..not sure whether the lyrics to TF are any good but it's a great sing- and play-along at least.

I think the lyrics to The Fame were pretty good, actually. They're the first real example of Noel dealing with all the post-Oasismania bullshit that would later dominate SOTSOG 9in a more depressing way).
I'm a man of choice in an old Rolls Royce And I'm howling at the moon Is my happening too deafening for you?
And the irony was that yeah - for many people the BHN stuff was so deafening it turned them off the band!

The Fame is in the same style as To Be Someone, lyrics wise that is.
