Quite ugly one morning. Not as good as the book but Finley Price is a walking disaster, loses finger then jumps on nail, as only Fish can make it humorous. π

The Remains of the Day, starring Anthony Hopkins and Emma Thompson. Don't be put off by it's staid and posh English stately home setting, it really is an ideal setting for this film. It's a very sad film about how status and principles repress people from being their authentic self. Christopher Reeve is also excellent as the American politician who sees through such facades. Brilliant film. Five stars. It's one of my all time favourite films. Brilliant above brilliant, yet as you mentioned, it's a quite sad story. I'm planning to read this novel written by Kazuo Ishiguro.

I watched it out of interest having read one of Ishiguro's novels over Christmas called An Artist of the Floating World. Great book, so looking forward to reading more of his.

Last night I started watching Bang on Acorn TV (after I'd finished watching Spiral season 8) it's another good police drama set in Wales. It's about a police officer and her brother but the brother starts getting into crime. I'm only three episodes in at the moment though.

My better half has An Artist of the Floating World, but I haven't read it yet myself. I read The Buried Giant a couple of years ago. Reading his books is quite challenge for us, non-native tongue, but after finishing The Remains of The Day, I would love to read his newest one Klara and the Sun too.

Afterlife season 3
A little less charming than before (if you can say that about a story that is utterly heart-breaking!), but a bit more "realistic".

There's only two series available of Bang which is a shame as it's been really good so far. I've got one more episode to watch of the first series and then I'll start the second one.

So Boris Johnson and his cronies are trying to break up the BBC are they. It's absolutely disgusting and the BBC is a public broadcaster which should stay. First they try and privatise Channel 4 and now this. Shame on them. However, it's not really surprising as it's just the same old Tories.

I finished watching Bang on Acorn TV last night and I enjoyed it. I just wish that there was more than two series. Then I started watching the rest of The Bay series 3 but I found it really boring so I doubt I'll bother watching anymore. It's not a patch on the first two series which I enjoyed.

I've also watched episode one of that Screw on All4. It's not bad but some of it is a little silly though.

No Country For Old Men, a wild film. That is expected from the Coen Brothers though.
