iVE HEARD CONCERTS OF OASIS IN 1998 AND LIAMS VOICE IS GOOD HE SINGS WELL. iN 1999 HE STARTS TO GET GRUFF AND IN 2000 ESPECIALLY FAMILLAR TO MILLIONS HIS VOICE IS SO BAD. mAYBE HE CHANGED HIS SINGING STYLE AS A OASIS MAC 2 THING, WITH GEM AND ANDY ENTERING THE BAND BUT WHY DOESNT HE SING ESPECIALLY THE OLDER SONGS THE WAY THERE MEANT TO BE.
iVE HEARD HIM SAY I DONT LIKE ME VOICE ON DEFINATELY MAYBE. bUT THAT IS NO EXCUSE NOT TO SING BETTER IN THE OTHER ONES. bASICALLY WOT IM TRYIN TO SAY IS WHY CANT LIAM SING LIKE HE DOES IN THE STUDIO.

This is the most senseless post. Liam sings the way he sings. He can't sing like he's 21 anymore, yaknow? Too many years of vocal abuse and cigarettes. And noone sounds exactly like they do live as in the studio... Have you heard the mixed up Live Forever borrowing from 94-04 gigs? Yeah man, it's been a slow degradation. It sucks but there ya go....

Tell you what you should do mate is record yourself singing a song then go on a huge drink, drug and nicotine bender for the next 10 years. Record the song again in 10 years time, listen to it back and see if your voice sounds the same.
Does that answer your question? ;D

Yeah Liam's voice is shitty as hell right now. Sometimes its ok, but it'll never be what it was in Be Here Now.
The band knows it, but they're not going to say anything about it.

You cant blame his voice probs on drugs/booze...i mean look at guys like daltry, petty etc...they are all over 50, all did drugs (petty not so much) and they sound near what they did 30 years ago

I think he sounds better these days. In fact, I could hardly listen to Definitely Maybe after I heard Familiar To Millions - his voice was too high-pitched or something. I read somewhere that the male singing voice reaches its peak between the age of 35 and 50, so I think he'll only get better.

I think it was best on Morning Glory/Be Here Now And the thing is, it's not that his voice simply has changed. It's that he abused it like hell. That's what made the change so durastic. It didn't mature, it was really hurt. He lost a LOT of range, loses breath all the time, can't hit notes as well, and is just too gruff sometimes

His voice was top notch on DM...but come on if he still sounded like that now I would be a bit worried. I mean when I'm in my 30's I sure hope the fuck I don't sound like I'm still 20.

Liam sounds to me like he's another victim of the dreaded vocal cord rupture

I think that his voice between WTSMG and Be Here Now was best. I have not heard many gigs, but it was some transitional stage and I fucking like it.
I think that his singing style is very damaging for the chords. Raise your head like he use to and sing along "champagne supernova" - it's painful dude. I did it a couple of times, then I had to drink a couple of teas and rest. Ok, so imagine Liam doing this for a decade. Not very good, right?
oh, and the booze and coke isn't so damaging. Also, you can't sing the same manner for all the years. I mean Oasis has about about a 6 or 7 years career, knock on wood, so if Liam preserves his voice - he will be fine. You will like him.

yeah noel hasnt had any of liams problems and he's drank smoked and done as much drugs as liam. its totally the way liam sings, the way he cocks his head back and just belts it out. it has fucked his voice. he doesn't really get in that position anymore, but it may be too late. its pretty depressing. hopefully it won't get any worse.

yeah i just noticed that in 98 his voice was fine and when oasis did a mini tour in 99 it changed into a gruffer voice not quite like ftm but he was on his way. i personally believe that liam got bored of singin the same old songs the same old way and gave them a gruffer edge to them live. In the studio who knows what they do, i am sure he doesnt get anti-gruff software. I dont like it thoughthat 99-2004 period was hard to listen to. but like many people i reckon with the change of posture that his voice is becoming better, you only have to hear a 05 gig and you'll realise this. compare 05 to 02-03 etc and you'll agree oasis are a better band for it.
thanks for your opinions.
