There was a rumour a while ago that Oasis did a new kind of 'unplugged show'
got me thinking..
what would your dream Unplugged set be?
here's mine (it will probably change tomorrow)
1. Turn Up The Sun 2. Lyla 3. Go Let It Out 4. Shakermaker 5. Cast No Shadow 6. Rocking Chair (Noel vocals) 7. D'Yer Wannabe a Spaceman? 8. My Big Mouth (Noel vocals) 9. Acquiesce 10. I Hope, I Think, I Know (Noel vocals) 11. Gas Panic! 12. A Bell Will Ring 13. Meaning of Soul 14. Wonderwall 15. Live Forever 16. The Importance Of Being Idle 17. The Girl In The Dirty Shirt 18. All Around the World

MTV Unplugged: 1. Turn Up The Sun (the "Kevell & Nick" cover that was uploaded somewhere on here a while back is the right way to do this one acoustic. Add a string section and it could be brilliant.) 2. Lyla 3. Go Let It Out 4. Magic Pie 5. Solve My Mystery 6. Acquiesce 7. Live Forever 8. Mucky Fingers 9. Guess God Thinks I'm Abel 10. Cigarettes & Alcohol
Off-Air Extras: 11. Don't Look Back In Anger 12. Roll With It 13. Wonderwall (Ryan Adams version) 14. Shakermaker 15. Scorpio Rising

You're both missing Idler's Dream. And I don't think that Acquiesce would really lend itself to acoustic. It would have to be drastically re-worked. If someone's done this and has a recording, I'd like to hear to make it a good acoustic song, because I think it's one of those songs that just only works loud and electric.

I thought about Idler's Dream, but I'm not sure how it would transfer to Unplugged. It's a beautiful song, but it's beautiful for its simplicity. I'm not sure how smoothly an orchestra or even just a little tinkering with the original could add to that.
Acquiesce would be an interesting challenge, which is why I put it on there. Though to be honest I doubt Noel or anyone else in the band would be versatile and creative enough to pull it off.

That's far too ambitious
And if I were to hear an unplugged set..... it'd be (with Noel on vocals/guitar, Gem on guitar, and some percussion and strings).
This is not in any order
Stand By Me Don't Go Away Slide Away Roll With It Wonderwall Live Forever Listen Up Rockin Chair Stop Crying Your Heart Out Whatever Let's All Make Believe

For me, I've heard enough Unplugged/acoustic versions of Wonderwall/DLBIA/Talk Tonight etc, so I would leave them right off (though in all likelihood if the band ever did another Unplugged those songs would end up being included!). You've got to think that they'd only get 10 songs max on a prgramme, and I think the band should focus on doing something different from the last one and on playing some newer material, so (with Liam doing the vocals - would make it different than the last one! - apart from the Noel-led songs):
01. Turn Up The Sun 02. The Importance Of Being Idle 03. Stop Crying Your Heart Out 04. Let's All Make Believe 05. Songbird 07. Part Of The Queue 08. Guess God Thinks I'm Abel 09. Sunday Morning Call 10. Let There Be Love

I think this one could be fine:
01. Turn Up The Sun 02. Lyla 03. Songbird 04. Stop Crying Your Heart Out 05. The Importance Of Being Idle (Noel) 06. The Masterplan (Noel) 07. Live Forever 08. Don't Go Away 09. The Meaning Of Soul 10. Guess God Thinks I'm Abel 11. One Way Road (Noel) 12. Wonderwall (Noel) 13. Rockin' Chair 14. Let There Be Love
All songs sung by Liam except where noted

ok so maybe the setlist can be 30 songs long but I'm gonna be realistic and I'm gonna cut it down to 14 which seems reasonable..
