1. Keep The Dream Alive - Uplifting start to the album with one of its catchiest songs. 2. Mucky Fingers - strong, driving second track. 3. Lyla - flows nicely from MF. 4. Turn Up The Sun - nice transition from Lyla. 5. Pass Me Down The Wine - think its far superior to the dreary Love Like A Bomb. Bit different but not hackneyed like other Liam tunes. 6. Guess God Thinks I'm Abel - one of the stand outs for me. 7. Eyeball Tickler - Need a rockier one now... 8. The Importance Of Being Idle - time for a Noel slowie. 9. A Bell Will Ring - another strong tune, good rocker. 10. Who Put The Weight Of The World On My Shoulders? - Better closer than Let There Be Love?

Man....
That's being like what people were raving about with Standing on the Shoulder of Giants
I do agree that the first three tunes off DBTT are weaker, man, but I would not suggest that ruining that album with a "collection" of better songs would help the album
I'm sorry, but I truly believe that an album's strength comes through with its flow... and DBTT has a decent one. It'd only be destroyed if you put some b-sides on it.

I definetly like DBTT the way it is. Eyeball Tickler is a very good B-side but wouldn't fit the album. I think KTDA isn't a song to be an album opener. WPTWOTWOMS doesn't sound at all like the stuff that's on the album, PMDTW is a good song but it's got "b'side materia" written all over it. it's just my opinion but I don't think that alternative DBTT would be better. I also see you exclude MOS which I think is a killer track and POTQ which is also very good and goes very well in the album between GGTIA and KTDA

ktda would be a terrible opener. I think for the songs it has, the track listing is perfect. I agree that meaning of soul is kind of shit. I would maybe put pass me down the wine on it.
and also i can see it now as a secret track. I dunno which versions have it.

Gotta have POTQ somewhere.
As Oasis harder stuff goes, I don't like Tickler that much.

Tickler is like Fade Away. It doesn't fit the album at all.. Although, Fade Away's a better song...
And I'd leave MoS on. It's not the best live (I don't like it anyway), but on the album, it sounds killer. I don't know why, but it just works better with the acoustics...

nameless one, you took out let there be love. why would you do that?
here is what i would do...
1 I can see it now 2 lyla 3 guess god thinks i'm abel 4 A bell will ring 5 let there be love 6 turn up the sun 7 mucky fingers 8 importance of being idle 9 meaning of soul 10 part of the queue 11 who put the weight of the world on my shoulders 12 sitting here in silence on my own
b-sides for lyla: keep the dream alive and love like a bomb for iobi: eyeball tickler and pass me down the wine for ltbl: quiet ones and don't let me down
sure the album is mellower but in case you haven't noticed i am a firm believer in MORE NOEL and this way 8 out of 12 songs are by the chief (which, imo, still isn't enough)...

Man, you can't start an album with the CYSIN - the audience will be comatose by the 3rd minute of the record! I think starting an ablum with an instrumental is the sort of trick you can (or should) only pull once, and FITB is by far the better tune.
