It's often said, and with a strong element of truth, that oasis haven't lived up to the first 2 albums (I'd say this has more to do with the vibe of the mid-90's more than any musical deficiancy). I think that BHN, SOTSOG, HC and DBTT all have great songs tho. So, if you were to combine a maximum of 12 tracks from thos four albums, what would make your post-morning glory album (no b-sides)? For me:
Turn up the sun Stop crying your heart out Go let it out Hindu times The importance of being idle Gas panic Fade in out Don't go away Guess god thinks i'm abel Keep the dream alive Born on a different cloud

i'd say that you should combine the BHN & SOTSOG era.. and include the b-sides from that period.. noel has said in the past that the band should have breaked for a bit after MG tour... and he feels that HC marked a new life for the band with gem and andy really joining in. DBTT is a fantastic album as far as i'm concered.. no need to dice this one apart cause it stands strong on its own... lets see some lists of the 12 best tunes for an album from the BHN,SOTSOG, and the bsides..>

(all in all not a steller set of songs...i mean, angel child, stay young and my sister lover are ok but when compared with the dm/wtsmg b-sides they kind of pale.)

Yeah, I agree with counting Be Here Now as the first half of Oasis' career because it is in the same style as the first two. So a combo of SOTSOG onwards would go something like this (incl B sides):
The Hindu Times Go Let It Out Stop Crying Your Heart Out Let's All Make Believe Little By Little Lyla Gas Panic! Mucky Fingers Guess God Thinks I'm Abel Sunday Morning Call Carry Us All
