hi gang.
i was thinking we could dedicate this thread to our favourite Oasis memories... whether it be live events, taped interviews, band milestones, etc... this may be fun or it may get slagged, we'll see.
i'll start with one of my favs...
-Jools Holland performance, January 2000. -just before the band starts 'my generation' noel decides to dedicate it to ''all the double old bastards who grouch'' lmao. liam comes back with "what, like yourself?". noel then points out a couple blokes in the very intimate crowd and says "no, not me, like that twat, and that twat right there".
as gary crowely would say..."absolutely cracking stuff"

For my canadian friend,
Much Music (Sometime in 2000)
Noel being interviewed by George S(cant spell his last name) and Rick the temp. It was when George first started at Much Music so I guess his was a bit excited.
Anyway they were taking questions from the audience and someone asked about the design of the new cover (being in NY and why did they do that? Something to that effect). The cameras go back to Noel and George and you see George quickly show a copy of the cd to Noel for his review to answer the question. And Noel smiling replies to George saying "Yeah thanks mate I've seen it before"
I still laugh about that......too funny!

I was glad I was there the first night, when his voice was working and he wasn't shit-faced. "Whose idea was the phone box last time? Just get a tart to get her tits out."

Seeing them on Naked City in early '94 doing Supersonic and Shakermaker (which is on the Definitely Maybe DVD) and realising I was gonna love this band.
In terms of actually being there, it would have to be Maine Road. An awesome day I will never forget.

MTV unplugged 96... Noel strums an E minor. 'yeaaaaaaaaah' screams a woman in the crowd. 'yeah what?' - Noel. 'talk tonight!' - woman in crowd. 'talk tonight? i was actually gonna play it's good to be free' - Noel, followed by laughter. 'but I'll play talk tonight... a tenner for the one in the black'.
Classic stuff.

my fave memories of oasis......... being a 12 year old kid and seeing oasis for the 1st time on xmas day in 1994 on TOTP, they showed the whatever video and i remember just being glued to the screen and thinking who are these guys they are amazing ;D watching the brit awards uncut show 1996 and liam going "if theres anyone anyone ere right whos tough enough to take us off this stage coz were gonna talk all night now cheers right, and i'd like to thank all the fans and all the people who made us what were are, i'd like to thank all the people (then noel and liam brake into the blur parklife song) Liam ending with shitelife and noel ending it with marmite ha ha ha. Noel then says "if anyones got a demo tape send it to this man alan mcgee at creation records coz hes the man, hes the man" then chris evans comes up puts his arm round noel and says "we don't want you to go we want you to stay here" and liam saying " its gonna take more then fooking ginger b**locks to get us off this stage" and chris lookin alittle embarrissed saying "your not performing tonight but heres you performing champagne supernova in this auditrium last year" classic! ;D listening to radio 1's live broadcast of knebworth in 1996, man that was magical listenin to that, i definitely felt like i was part of something special that night. Meeting guigsy in 1997 in my home town, which is something i will tresure forever. i had my photo taken with him and it was put in the local paper with the writing underneath reading "Stand by me" double proud. i will also remember forever those words that guigs said to me that day coz i was so nervous he said "remember lis, chill, chill out" the best! Finally getting tixs to see oasis at wembley stadium in 2000 after 5 years of trying and wot a night it was too, i was at the 2nd night, the memorible night of liam being a little worse for wear, had a quality night, managing to get into the enclosed area and being 3rd row from front, amazing. got taken out after 3 songs but it was worth it. got to stand at the barrier just outside the enclosed area and had a top time. best memory of that night was when liam walked round to the side of the stage while noel was playing step out, and i spotted him and i shouted up to liam and how he heard me i'll never know but he did and he turned round and walked to the edge of the stage, knelt down and waited for me to take a picture. (took 2 pics but strangly none of them came out, only the one where hes standing up and pushin his glasses back on) then he pointed at him, then me and my best mate and then to the stage, then i went no and did the same thing he did. it was so funny coz it was totally out of character for me and liam laughed and he then did the same as before, it was funny. then this lad came over to try and take a pic coz he must of saw liam too and liam walked away waiting to go back on. (felt kinda sorry for the lad but double happy that, that moment happened. no one has ever believed me and me best mate but it did happen) winning a competiton of oasisinet to see oasis at a special recording for TOTP in 2002, man that was class, i was so close to gem and andy i couldnt believe it. i had a top view of liam too. got to hear the hindu times and then 3 songs from the then new album "heathen chemistry" Stop cryin your heart out (in which they had to do twice coz there was a problem with liams mic or something, which was funny coz while the geezer was changing liams mic, liam was stood behind him doing all these funny gestures and as he walked off, liam says "aye aye sailor boy" ;D, Songbird and Force of nature. also got to hear Acquiesce, DLBIA and my generation (in which liam had the words on the stage by his feet). one top night, managed to get liam's setlist too with footprint ;D top memories with more still to come i hope

He asked liam the same question twice cause he couldn't understand what he was saying about the album cover. It was pretty funny, yeah.
