I think he has many classics in him at the embryonic stage, my concern is what he does to those gems in the studio.
Iihag could have been one if it remained stripped down and vunerable as the sound check was. Some of the other sound checks are also very promising, just don't over produce them please NG. TDOYAM is a little classic for me far more so over scyho.
Lets All Make Believe very much a modern classic for me.

Classics are songs that are songs that years after being released are still remembered and played on radios worldwide... Oasis songs like Wonderwall, Back In Anger & The Importance are classics... 'Parklife' by Blur is a classic... 'Insomnia' by Faithless is a classic... 'All The Things She Said' by Tatu is a classic... 'Everybody's On The Run' by Noel Gallagher' High Flying Birds is not going to be a classic.. I'm HFP, and I've hit the nail on the head again. Thank You. Well said (apart from the Tatu bit, thats just bizarre). Makes me laugh Sorry like, but no way is If I Had A Gun a classic. I remember quite a few people voted the Death of You and Me as 10/10 as well. Some people on here are massively deluded.

Enjoy the silence is a classic. Tatu? If the point you make is pop can be classic then that is a dreadful example for me mate. Any genre regardless of ones preference will produce classics "fight the power" public enemy, Bullet in the head - RATM, baby one more time - Britney Spears. So on and so on.

What I like about this forum is the way that threads are governed by status over content. More passion in evoked by topics such as Liam's plimsoles over valid points and more stimulating posts Purely dependant on who posts and what supposed kudos they have.
This thread became dormant because I posted. Maybe what I said was boring and did not deserve a retort. Possible but not the case, this place is riddled with people who have built a self obsessed community that will only entertain what it sees fit to entertain regardless if the point is valid. Where I am from its called Clicky.

You have a persecution complex.
No one had posted for 3 days before you did. It was already dead...had nothing to do with you.

You have a persecution complex, I think.
The thread dying had nothing to do with you.

I remember quite a few people voted the Death of You and Me as 10/10 as well. Some people on here are massively deluded. Music snobbery is the worst kind of snobbery. P.S. I bet you cream your pants everytime Thom Yorke plays that impossible B7minorQ8th chord

Agreed, that is a good one. Though I think the entire HFB album is filled with classics. I think classic songs are those that don't get boring even if you hear them again and again, and that certainly is applicable to every song on the HFB album, so the answer is yes! he most certainly has classic songs still left in him.

This. Radiohead has fairly simple progressions and fairly simple chord variations. To the op. In terms of classics, as in him having a hit single that spans the globe, the chances of that are fairly slim. In terms of him continually producing that good songs that could build their own legacies, then yes. The Velvet Underground never had a hit, but Waiting For the Man is a classic song. Iggy Pop and the Stooges never had a hit, but I Wanna Be Your Dog is a classic in my opinion. Not all classics were hits, and not all hits are classics.

A stone cold classic up there with Strawberry Fields, Sitting On The Dock Of The Bay, DLBIA? I think Nyron is being pretty sensible about it tbh.

Yes I think he does, NGHFB had some really good songs but no classics for me, I still think he can do it though if the productions better on the next album.

Agreed, that is a good one. I think classic songs are those that don't get boring even if you hear them again and again, For me then that rules out Everybody's On the Run, Dream On, If I Had A Gun..., Soldier Boys And Jesus Freaks, Record Machine and of course Stop The Clocks
