Alright. So I was just watching Oasis yesterday at ACL with a new friend who had never heard anything beyond Wonderwall. Needless to say, she loved the concert last night. But, she is a massive Coldplay fan and you know into all that girly rock (Coldplay, Maroon 5, Death Cab, Jason Mraz, etc).
So I want to make her an Oasis mix that was sort of the more tender "girly" Oasis. What do I include for 14-15 tracks or so. Any thoughts? 1) Wonderwall- maybe a new acoustic? 2) Talk Tonight 3) Champagne Supernova 4) Live Forever 5) She Is Love 6) SCYHO ....etc. Please post your thoughts!

First off let me say that next to Oasis and Kasabian, Coldplay and Jason Mraz are fuckin tops. I've been to 5 Jason Mraz shows and this weekend I'm going to Chicago to make it 6. His originality and mega voice is a real fuckin spark of freshness. He doesn't try to be anything other then him. So before people listen to fucking garbage like Bloc Party and Kaiser Chiefs just because of the similar genre, try Mraz's (live material) and you won't think of him as being so girly perhaps. But yes, its all fucking women at his shows, which in most cases works out very nice! Go to one of his live shows and find out. But anyways, my list is coming right now for you mate...

I'd throw on 2 versions of both Wonderwall and Don't Look Back, really pound them in her head.
1. Lyla 2. Slide Away 3. Live Forever 4. Wonderwall 5. Underneath The Sky 6. Stand By Me 7. Songbird 8. She's Electric 9. The Girl In The Dirty Shirt 10. Champagne Supernova 11. Don't Go Away 12. D'You Know What I Mean? 13. Dont Look Back In Anger 14. Going Nowhere 15. Where Did It All Go Wrong? 16. Let There Be Love 17. Fade Away (WARCHILD version) this track alone should win her over knowing her taste... 18. Don't Look Back In Anger (Acoustic) 19. Wonderwall (Acoustic) 20. Idler's Dream
Cheers

If it's "girly" songs you're after, in no particular order... 1. Live Forever 2. Wonderwall 3. Acquiesce 4. Slide Away 5. Talk Tonight 6. Underneath The Sky 7. Little By Little 8. Stop Crying Your Heart Out 9. Take Me Away 10. Don't Go Away 11. Half The World Away 12. Listen Up 13. Don't Look Back In Anger 14. Cast No Shadow 15. Where Did It All Go Wrong? (semi-acoustic version) 16. Stand By Me 17. Carry Us All 18. Sad Song 19. Fade Away (Warchild version) 20. Guess God Thinks I'm Abel 21. Champagne Supernova
Those are the ones that spring to mind but there's tons out there to choose from... If she hears Slide Away and her heart doesn't melt there's something wrong with her. I've never met a girl who doesn't turn to mush when she hears that song.
