I've been reading some reviews of the Noel Gallagher High Flying Bird Reviews in the US about the recent tour. Several of the reviews referenced NGHFB's psychedelic album (NGHFB). I've never really considered the album psychedelic, would you consider it?
Which songs would you consider the most psychedelic, if any?

I think they might have been talking about the one that was supposed to come out with AA but that has been scrapped.

I agree with tomlivesforever.
Is NGHFB's first album psychedelic?
No, not at all.

Nope. I would only consider Stop The Clocks and that's a huge stretch.

Well there was a sitar in one of the songs, another one had an unusual structure and a few of them had that "drone" feeling to them, perhaps that's what they mean?

I would agree witih you, but they were saying he was playing songs from his psychedelic album NGHFB. I don't think it's pyschedelic but perhaps comapred to the music that's on the radio right now it is. Who knows?

Maybe he was trying to seem impressive. I agree he was definitely talking about HFB because I read that review.
HFB is not psychedelic IMO. Don't know why he chose that description.

Maybe they're thinking of "Shoot a Hole into the Sun" as Noel and band prepare to walk out. That's the closest I can think of.

Goog God what has happened to music in the last decade that people are now calling HFB psychedelic? I'd love to hear what they think of Srg. Pepper, or The White Album.
Hilariously awful.

Four songs on it are psychedelic. Erm, how did you get that count. I hear glam rock, power ballads, ragtime/Americana, and retro-dance. But psychedelic?

I would consider TDOYAM Americana. Americana just refers to a wealth of genres that are close to what one would identify with America ie, Country, Blues, ragtime, folk, bluegrass. Ragtime is a type of Americana and I would definitely consider the horns in TDOYAM ragtime/marching band type horns. I don't know how anyone else would describe the horns in that song. Not that much of a stretch tbh Even SB&JF with the bugle boy type horns could be considered an off shoot of Americana.

It's inspired by ragtime/marching bands yeah, but in my opinion you just can't drop some horns on a track and have it be Americana. I really think that, if that's the case, then HFB can definitely be considered psychedelia (which I also disagree on).
