Gotta admit, I'm digging the Dream On demo.
a.) Because I get to hear Noel singing with a much more distinct accent
b.) Because there are times when Noel actually sounds like Damon Albarn. Seriously, in the chorus, he puts some strain on his voice and he sounds like Damon.
c.) I love the ending much more. Much less repetitive. And has a great happy Beatles-ish tinge.
I've listened to the DO demo most, next to the Broken Arrow demo.

The ending is great, i agree. When you hear his interviews, Noel could make a record ala Magical mystery tour or songs like You Know My Name (Look Up the Number).
Dream On and TDOYAM demos are close, but not quite yet. I guess he's stuck by what he thinks people want to hear. The next record should be really interesting because now that his first solo album is a success, it'll hopefully give him confidence to get out of his comfort zone.

Because I don't, its just that most of the demos are terrible in my opinion or else nowhere near as good as the final product, you probably know this too but you don't say it because you've made a binding agreement when becoming a Noel fanboy to never call anything by Noel less than amazing or genius. |

I like how rough it is, its a demo innit, demos are meant to be rough.  That's what I thought. Obviously Noel's vocals are pristine, but I don't think at the time that he'd be releasing the demos to the world over a year and a half later. I just think the demo is interesting and much more light hearted than the original. DO has a great catchy melody, but if I had one issue with production from HFB's, it's the complete over production of DO. The catchy-ness of the song gets choked out by it in my opinion. |

The studio version of DO has grown greatly on me. Still one my least favorites, but I can listen to it without skipping now. I prefer the Studio over this Demo by far, although the ending "ba bas" are much better, and would have made the final version better.....
