i didn't write this, btw.
1) Appetite For Destruction - blows Definitely Maybe and WTSMG out of the water. There is no filler.
2) Axl Rose could have Liam Gallagher and then some - come on Liam, try moving on stage, no? at least move with a tambourine, Axl does that better than you aswell
3) Slash vs Noel Gallagher - Slash can play long structured solos aswell as short blasts of wowness, and Noel, well, can't, Noel does play some catchy solos, but in guitar ability they are miles apart
4) GNR's unreleased songs are better than new Oasis - Madagascar? better than anything Oasis have done for ten years, and it hasnt even been released before
5) GNR are a hundred times better than Oasis live - FACT, they vary solos, extend songs, actually move, and dont rely on one or two songs to carry the whole set
6) Guns N Roses have far cooler t-shirts (both worn by members and fan ones) - an empty pale shirt with Oasis written on? No thanks, this is rock n roll mate. PLUS Axl and Slash wear the coolest clothers ever, Liam wears a fishermans hat
7) Guns N Roses have always been the coolest band, Oasis are not cool now, were for two years and disappeared. GNR were proclaimed 'the most dangerous band in the world'. They did what they want the way they wanted.
8) Guns N Roses are far more versatile - November Rain- Sweet Child O Mine - Its So Easy - Patience. Sounds like four different bands with four different singers. They released what they wanted to release. They made the best hard rock album of all time then followed it up with an acoustic ep, followed by two albums released at the same time.
9) Guns N Roses did a world tour for three years, the longest tour in rock history - FACT. They sold out 50,000 plus stadiums night after night, continent after continent. Everyone everywhere knew them. Oasis sold out one show in America because everyone went to see Jet.
10) AFD (1986) STILL sells 8000 copies a week worldwide, on the standard of the music alone, and does not sound dated. Oasis' early work already sounds a little dated. Believe folks

that's so ridiculous that it makes me laugh i mean have you seen slash's hair? that's supposed to be cooler than liam? ;D 8) Guns N Roses are far more versatilei had actually noticed that songbird and columbia are the same song funny... 10) AFD (1986) STILL sells 8000 copies a week worldwideDM and MG were still in the charts last year anyway that's funny to see that when a fan of another band tries to prove something, he compares to oasis which means to me that they feel that oasis is a threat ;D mwaaaaaaaaaahahahaaaaaaaaaaa ;D

You're crazy and Anything goes are not fillers but those are shit songs, which is worse....Rocket Queen is a filler...and a crappy one at that
I agree with that...but Noel has more memorable melodies in his b-sides catalogue than GnR in their entire career
Ok, now that's just stupid
Didn't Axl wear tights??
More versatile?...why? cause November Rain had strings and orchestration?...Going Nowhere has that...and it's a b-side......GnR released what they wanted to release? sure...so did Oasis, a b-sides compilation....an the simultaneous double release it's something you shouldn't brag about...those are two mediocrities...could've been ONE stellar album...we have two patchies instead..yuppie!
So? The Backstreetboys sold out stadiums as well
Caro took care of this one....
And one thing...Oasis was part of a movement that included bands like The Verve, Blur, Radiohead and Pulp...GnR were part of a movement that included Poison, Motley Crue and Bon Jovi...so yeah, that's cool

Oh my god. Have you heard Use Your Illusions? There is so much shit on there it's not even funny. And Appetite, I listened to a buddies copy the other day and couldn't get through it. The singles are great but there is some complete shit on there.

Axl Rose sings like he has a carrot stuck up his arse and what kinda name is AXL anyway... someone's mother musn't have loved them GnR are a product of the shit factory of music that is the 80's. (excluding bands such as stone roses) GNR do not compare with Oasis at ALL. BTW where did you get this dixonhill?

COMPLETE AND UTTER BULLSHIT.
Bob dylan holds the record, not sure of how many years but its summit like 20. And that is fact cos i was reading it in my mates guiness book of music records.
what a load of wank. where did you find it?

This year, Oasis released a worldwide smash album, and is touring the world in support of that record.
Where did you say G 'N' R is again?

That way, not too many people would be disappointed in "they didn't play THIS, or, they left off THAT" IMHO....

"2) Axl Rose could have Liam Gallagher and then some - come on Liam, try moving on stage, no? at least move with a tambourine, Axl does that better than you aswell"You need to see a circus act with your rock and roll, fine. I just want rock and roll. 6) Guns N Roses have far cooler t-shirts (both worn by members and fan ones) - an empty pale shirt with Oasis written on? No thanks, this is rock n roll mate. PLUS Axl and Slash wear the coolest clothers ever, Liam wears a fishermans hatI'll give you the shirts but between a fisherman's hat and Axl's tights which would you rather walk down the street with? 7) Guns N Roses have always been the coolest band, Oasis are not cool now, were for two years and disappeared. GNR were proclaimed 'the most dangerous band in the world'. They did what they want the way they wanted.Like waiting forever to release Chinese Democracy. 8) Guns N Roses are far more versatile - November Rain- Sweet Child O Mine - Its So Easy - Patience. Sounds like four different bands with four different singers. They released what they wanted to release. They made the best hard rock album of all time then followed it up with an acoustic ep, followed by two albums released at the same time.Noel on vocals: D'Yer Wanna Be A Spaceman. Don't Look Back In Anger. Sunday Morning Call. Full On. Liam's vocals: Cigarettes & Alcohol. Wonderwall. D'You Know What I Mean. Who Feels Love. They started out wanting to put out their kind of music or die trying and acheived the former. If you wanted a pop band, that was Oasis. If you wanted a hard edge rock band that was Oasis. If you wanted a gentle singer songwriter, that was Noel. If you wanted a sneering rock 'n roll bad boy, that was Liam. Oh, but the market for retro sounds with new twists is SOOOOOOOOOOOOO in demand right now. 9) . . . They sold out 50,000 plus stadiums night after night, continent after continent. Everyone everywhere knew them. Oasis sold out one show in America because everyone went to see Jet.Well Britney and N'Sync tore the house down by your logic, didn't they? And I saw Jet open for Oasis in DETROIT, MICHIGAN, where you'd think all the hard rock Jet fans would be present, and pretty much everyone remained seated quietly waiting for Oasis when Jet were on. What's that all about, sir? Axl Rose . . . if I were still keeping the faith that fat miserable sod like you are I'd have some sand in my vagina as well.

Not to offend any of my US brethren, but that was obviously written by a Yank. The whole "2 years then disappeared" bit highlights it. I bet you any money the nob who wrote it is over 30 or 35 armed with his fading memories of How Great Things Were Back In The 80's, greying hair and collection of lousy metal T-shirts. Mate - GNR have been dead for over a decade. They made one really good record and THAT'S IT. They were a JOKE. GET OVER IT.

GnR had some great songs, about 6 or 7 of them were pretty good. But apart from that, they were just meh. Oasis have much more better songs than anything GnR ever did.
ANd have you seen/heard Axl lately? He's got a huge shiny belly, looks like he's pregnant. And his voice totally sucks, he sang on the mtv vma's a couple of years ago and it was total shit, he can't hold a note like he used to, he almost went mute at the beginning of "welcome to the jungle".

I really like AFD and think Slash is a fucking amzing guitarist. No argument there. Key phrase though is WERE. GNR are over, maybe sad but definitely true. The new version with the guy with the KFC bucket on his head who've been recording one record for the last 8 years or whatever ('Chinese Democracy' makes DBTT look like it took a fortnight) hold no interest for me at all.

Guns N' Roses have only made one album that I love - Appetite For Destruction - but Oasis have made four. That's the bottom line for me.

Hmmm…
Did I miss something? Since when has there been a big G n' R/Oasis rivalry? I guess I don't get why anyone would want to compare the two bands.
Unless, of course, you're a 12-year-old just learning to play guitar, and you think things like notes-per-minute are really important.
