Noel is so predictable. I called this months ago, but I have no problem with it. I wasn't a fan of any of the AA stuff. Bring on FREAKY FUCKING TEETH and some demos! And then in 2 years bring on HFB 2.

Th AA mixes weren't totally crap, but I just couldn't image a whole album of 15 min long songs, with phrases repeated over and over. Better to just release them as b-sides

I'm totally gutted! would looking forward to hearing this album! I knew when he announced two at the one time it was too good to be true. I love Noel, but he's a total bullshitter.

Funny how quickly opinions change. When "Falling Down" remix came out everybody thought it was amazing (I liked it, but got bored about 8mins in), "Shoot A Hole..." was okay, a bit bland, but every still raved about it. Even when the "What A Life" remix came out, everyone banged on about it, even though it's actually shite.
But now that Noel has said he's not happy with it etc, everyone's saying he's made the right decision. I've never been a fan of the Amorphous Androgynous remix project Noel has going on, but I thought I'd give it a chance.
I'd still be interested to hear it, but I'm not champing at the bit for it and I honestly don't care if it doesn't come out. Not like 99% of you who said they couldn't wait for it, and have now said you don't want it.

Shoot A Hole into the Sun wasn't as good as FD but still alright and the WAL! remix was groovy. I was hoping for the AA album to get released but this wasn't really too much of a suprise. Hopefully something will leak, sooner or later. Remember that Noel told that there were some songs that weren't on the HFB album! |

Noel said clearly in eraly itw that the AA album was full of new songs, only WAL, IIHAG and TDOYAM were remix from the HFB.
So he may continue to use some as b sides and use some in traditionnal sound and finally leave the others. Those will leak in a few years and everybody will say"too bad he didn't release them", or "thank god he never released them". Who knows?
I really like SATHIS, so I hope he'll release some of them anyway, SATHIS was structured, the 15minutes of nonsense of WAL doesn't do much for me.

Not sure I get the comments about all of the AA songs being over 10 minutes long - Noel is on record as saying that there were 3 old songs and 10 new ones on the record. Now if they were going to go down a double-album route, which I doubt, then I think the songs would have been pretty standard timing. Noel got burnt by Be Here Now being too long so I don't even think the record would have gone over 60 minutes, plus there's the fact that he'd have had to play the songs live and Freaky Teeth, which we know was one of the songs on there, is hardly some 9 minute epic.

All I know is now no one is gonna win the bet I have with GIMH.  Glad to hear that he has least tried to go in the studio with it already. I'll bet we get TDOYAM mix. Maybe he just want to waste originals. Maybe he's only OK with releasing what he has because there are already alternate version but doesn't want these to be the only versions of the originals. |

I agree. Noel really should just release 'Freaky Teeth' already. He had it written in 2008/2009, recorded it during HFB and has been playing it live for almost a year now. To sit on that song for another 2-3 years before his NEXT album is foolish IMO. A single with 2 b-sides would be rather nice and make it relevant in the charts. TDOYAM would be a nice inclusion as many of you have already stated. Both fingers crossed!

As everybody I feel a bit reliefed because of the whole "a cd full of 15min songs would be boring", but I was very curious about hearing the new material... I actually believe the new songs wouldn't be as extended as the remixes, but I guess we'll never know and thats a shame...
Would be awesome if Noel released it through the site, but that seems highly unlikely...

I find it ironic that Noel loves Neil Young so much but he won't go as far as Neil does when releasing material. The guy releases EVERYTHING. Some of it great, some good, some ok, some is pure shit but he releases it and says to hell with the critics. Some of that gumption would be nice for Noel to have too. If not, Noel is going to have an epic archives/anthology project in 20 years time. |
