Can't say I blame him. The album was turning into the next Chinese Democracy.
I do, however, want to hear those tracks.

interesting itw.
That he doesn't like it is one thing, that it would have killed HFB is a stupid reason IMO. He's a little too concerned about commercial issues when at this point of his carrer and all is money, it would have been nice to see him release anything he wants, anytime he wants, like Damon or others. I was very happy about this project just because it was finally something different.
But if he doesn't like it then he might as well scrapped it and release the ones he like as bsides. He should have made an album with the chemical brothers.
Interesting that he was happy that BDI did the oympics and like their version and that he was happy oasis was represented. "at least it was Liam and the lads, not keane", lol.

That's a shame, I thought it could have been very interesting, screamadelica like, falling down remix was great, shoot a hole was good, but hwh I heard what a life remix, the aa sounded like a one trick pony, a garbled mess, of stoner ideas with no cohesion

Perhaps liam knew more than he was letting on when he said something on Twitter about Noel bottling it

Think he finally released they're shite. Agree with that post above, pair of potheads with very limited talent.

noel pussied out. I understand where he is coming from and I'm not a huge fan of anything the AA with regard to Noel's stuff but it was interesting and fresh. I was hoping when he became a solo artist he would take more chances. I love HFB's but it would be interesting to hear him step out of him comfort zone a bit more. With that being said he still is an amazing pop/rock songwriter but I do think he has the potential to be more than that.

Thank god for that. I'm looking forward to more classic Noel, and now don't have to be worried about weird repetitive nonsense that drags on for 20 minutes.

Will the AA fuck off with the faux psychedlic shite and revert back to The Future Sound of London where they were very innovative & decent. Fucking stoners.

TFSOL are the better band but yes AA does sometimes end up sounding like a caricature psychedelic band when they do there own stuff (not really their mixes).

But if he doesn't like it then he might as well scrapped it and release the ones he like as bsides. He should have made an album with the chemical brothers. Completely agree with that. AA album would be shit songs that are too long with no structure. A Chemical Brothers album would have potential hits that would help Noel reach new fans.

I am a little bit relieved (personally) that they have scrapped it but I do think that it would have been ace to hear something a little bit different. Noel has been put of the whole psychedelia from his, supposedly, disastrous dabble with it on SOTSOG. I think he could pull it off though - hopefully he releases some more stuff sooner rather than later though!

What a bummer. I really do wish he would try something different. Seems like he even had apprehensions releasing the High Flying Birds What A Life because it wouldn't please Oasis fans.

not too fussed about this. All the remixes we've heard so far have been shit, imo.

Wonderful news. The AA album would have been a disaster.

If Noel isn't happy then he isn't happy - simple as. The AA can't just leak it because they are unhappy because, at the end of the day, it is them who fucked up. The tracks are supposedly not good enough and Noel has been complaining for a long while about it now. The AA have lost a lot of money and it is their own fault

I've said it previously, if Noel didn't like the mixes he should have gave them to Paul "Strangeboy" Stacey the tracks and let him have a go after he mixed Shoot A Hole Into the Sun, he was happy with that and it was given a release.
I don't think Noel will have fallen out with the AA, we have only recently got their AKA... What a Life! remix which didn't have to come out.
Sometimes these things don't work out but I am disappointed it is not getting a release, even put it out as a website / digital only release or EP, it won't impact the High Flying Birds material that way.

I think he should release it in some format (like Jim has said). Fuck it, put it on the website or make it a members exclusive or something. just let us have the fucking thing.

Totally agree. I feel bad for the AA, Noel was so fund of them for years in itw, this album could have been huge for them, (not that I'm a fand of their work), now they're famous for not making an album that Noel liked. I mean Noel could have been more respectfull of their work and waited until it was finished to announce it, but getting slowly cold feet wasn't the high road. At least when he scrapped DIV session, he never said it was because he didn't liked it (surely it was the reason), but he never said it. He's damaging a band's reputation after they spent two yeas working for him, whatever the band is, it's not very classy...
