give tim some time, people! Why? He's no newbie to this game. Actually, he technically is. He's a lifetime bass/rhythm guitarist. Mostly bass. This tour is the first time he's ever played lead. Which is a big leap forward from playing 2 and bass. It takes some people years to become a good lead, some people can play a lifetime and never become good. It's something that does take time.

Exactly, thats why its a no brainer to me at this point.

I haven't really been following Noel's live performances, but when I saw him I thought Tim overplayed on some of the Oasis songs. He's good and the whole band sounds good.
However, Gem had a unique way of playing rhythm which was especially obvious when he started. He was more precise and worked with the song whereas Tim just sounds like he is playing the song. And, I know Tim never played it, but Gem took The Masterplan to another level live. By the last Oasis tour he nailed the solo and made it sound so much more dramatic.

Gem's guitar playing on the Masterplan during the Electric Proms is just magic.

Neither.
Gem always comes across to me as insincere, not genuine. Which is what brought me to Oasis in the first place. Everybody was just themselves. 5 dudes playing music, nothing more. Gem, imo, tries to hard to be "rock n roll", instead of just being who he is.
(side note: early 2000 Oasis when Gem played the DLBIA solo, I despised, and still do, how it sounded. Dreadful to my taste. I do enjoy his rendition on the acoustics gigs with Noel though.)
As for Tim, he plays alright. Haven't really given him to much attention since HFB is allegedly a mixed bag of guys that can come and go at anytime rather than an actual band. He doesn't kill the music for me, which is all I really care about.
