I think I like SAHITS more since to me it is a more finished piece of music. I really like the first 5 minutes of AKA...WAL remix but I do not need the other 10 minutes of it. Too repetitive to listen. I also like how SAHITS is not called a remix on the single sleeve but a different interpretation of IIHAG.

No. I was able to tolerate the first 4 minutes once, but that's it.

Agreed though, they're not that interesting and definitely not better than the "normal" album versions.

I like Shoot A Hole Into The Sun because its not a remix but a different version on its own, it sounds good too. I think the opening 2 and a half minutes of the What A Life remix are fantastic, then those women come in, I just can't stand them, they go away and then Noel repeats what he JUST sang less than a minute ago, exactly the same too as its not a new recording and I don't quite care for the song anymore, then the women come back and I care less, the sounds are good and interesting enough. Then its just trying to fade out it seems but staying as they loop that guitar solo part in the original. I complain about the women again, they're still looping and adding a random sound effect when they please. The song then finally en-Nevermind Noel starts to sing again. Some random guy comes in and appears to be channeling in his inner William Shatner with "What. A. Life!" Noel comes back continuing to sing what he sung in the first 2 minutes. Its starting to sound like they gave up, throwing in random sounds that aren't mixing well together as the first 5 minutes were. They then fade Noel out and bring those women back to end this song. There I typed out my disliking for most of this song and won't (hopefully) complain about it again. The first near 6 minutes are good enough and thats where the song should've ended, if not then at least at the near 10 minute mark, the last 5 minutes sound entirely pointless.
Though I just complained about 15 minutes of the AA work, I enjoy the longer 22 minute remix of Falling Down. Without going into great detail, it sounds like they actually give a crap here, it sounds interesting, they have a part probably longer of the "silentness" adding random sounds effects that they want but they sound better out together. Whats the deal with the kid(s)[?] though in that one part? It has its pointless moments I don't quite care about, but I still enjoy it more than the What A Life! remix.
I enjoy Shoot A Hole Into The Sun, don't care much for the What A Life! Remix but it keeps me interested for the most part.
Pointless words now end here.

NO. Not a fan whatsoever. Maybe it's my ADD (which I just self-diagnosed this second) but I can't listen to a song for more than four minutes unless it's entitled 'Slide Away' and was performed by NG in Chicago 1998. Other than that, the song needs to be (a) good (b) short-to-medium in length and (c) not freakishly psychadelic. Sorry Noel, I still love you.

Shoot a bumhole into the sun is my favourite kinda tune - wasn't sure at first and then... started to like it a bit more, a few more times.. the parts start falling into place... after five or six times, it suddenly 'makes sense' and I feel I totally get it bigtime, one of my favourite tracks of the past six months.
What a life, good ideas through the track, parts of it are very effective, but it's way too long for what they put into it, it lacks ideas compared to the effort put into shoot a hole (e.g overdubbed vocals, the melancholy pedal steel part) which enhance the song greatly. At the moment, for me, WAL doesn't repay repeated listens.

I'd be interested to see what these results would have been like when the tracks were released

Was just thinking of the AA album today and gave them both another spin.
I actually really like SAHITS now. I was a bit on the fence when it came out. It's still a bit long and some sections are definitely better than others but it a really interesting listen and I think it's a real journey. I enjoyed my listen. Better than I remembered it being actually.
The WAL remix I am still not a fan of. Definitely think it's the thing that most decreased my eagerness for the project
If most of the AA album is like WAL and less like SAHITS I'm glad it's been shelved, personally.
Still hoping Noel is going to get it right and put it out there in his time off. He told an interviewer recently than he was still kicking it around despite having said it was shelved last year so fingers crossed.
