I'm a huge Angel Child fan too, especially that really pretty guitar part at the end. It also has some of Noel's better lyrics.

If only BHN had managed to retain some of the stripped down beauty of the Angel Child demo. Fantastic song.

If only BHN had managed to retain some of the stripped down beauty of the Angel Child demo. Fantastic song. Absolutely, couldn't have said it better. I love how it's so removed from their other songs and it almost has, like, a quality all to its own. But has anyone else ever noticed the voices played at the start of the song? You hear Noel saying "Will you do this for me?" and then someone else says, "ok ok." I always wondered what that was about . . . like if there's a secret meaning to the song.

I think that's just on there cos it's a demo. Noel recorded it with Owen Morris on an 8 track machine on the island of Mustique, so it's probably just him talking Owen before starting the take. "Okay, okay", etc. He demoed all of BHN on that holiday, apparently. I've always really wanted to hear those album demos - apparently Owen Morris says they have a "shitty" drum mahcine on them but I'd love to experience the BHN songs stripped of all that excess instrumentation and laid out for us to hear. In a lot of ways I'm glad they left Angel Child as a demo - the way they were working at the time it probably would have ended up swamped in guitars and feedback if they'd re-recorded it for the album.
