I am a huge Oasis fan and have been for 11 years, but when i read articles like the one today where we shouldn't expect anything until 2007-2010 it makes me fucking pissed off. The worst part is to hear Noel say that he will probably just work on old stuff for the next album. That is a kick in the face to every oasis fan who spends their hard earned pay check on the band. When we all waited years for DBTT and we get 2 min long crappy b sides and some of the best songs aren't released as singles, makes me think that my idol "the chief" has lost it.

I don`t think noel has as much say in which singles are released, he said that he didn`t think lyla was a good choice for first single. WHO IS MAKING THE DESCISIONS THE BAND OR SONY?

Look at the Stones, they released an album every 2 to 3 years in the 70s and 80s... but the new album is coming nearly 8 years since their 1997 release. Point is, you can't expect an artist to meet every demand. Remember, Noel, Liam and crew are just human beings like yourselves. Don't glorify them to the point where you depend on what it is they do to come every other year.... it's just not morally right.

in the words of john carmack (quake series): it's done when it's done. what i want to say is: calm down, it's noel talking and you should get used to the bullshit he is spilling sometimes. right now he says he cant be arsed to write a new record after this tour but wait until he'll be bitching again about how bored he is doing nuffing but sitting around, getting fat and losing hair. plus there's liam who seem to have developed some sort of work ethics if this can be unambigously attributed to this guy.

1 - noel is a liar. be sure that the next one will be released in the end of 2007 / early 2008.
2 - what's the matter about noel work in old stuff? let's suppose that he'd written songs like eleanor rigby, i am the walrus, champagne supernova, bring it on down and stairway to heaven, and he didn't wanted to release them now because it's their last album for sony, or because they aren't ready and they had to release the album in 2005... so he decided to release them in the next one. so he should throw all these songs away and wait for new ones? fuck, he needs to work 3 years in them to make them sound still better in 2008!!! and probably he'll write 3 or 4 that may appear, in the album or as a b-side.
3 - you spent your hard earned pay check on the band because you wanted to. if you don't want anymore, don't spend.
4 - i don't think the b-sides for this album are crap (except for the quiet ones). but this is opinion, and i respect yours. but i think that worth wait for DBTT =-)
5 - listen to TIOBI and POTQ and tell me the chief lost it.
6 - sorry by my poor english, i'm brazilian.

Man, Noel's the chief, and that's that. I don't care if they don't put out another album until 2010, I can just sit down and listen to Morning Glory everyday until the record comes out. They've got more that 100 songs out man, I hear a lot f them every day, and talk about it with everyone I know, cause it's too good, it's the best thing there is, and I don't care if he's lost it, he is the chief and I will worship him forever.

Firstly, the band are into their 11th year of releasing music, you can't expect them to keep on releasing new material every year, very few bands do that so far into their career. Just be glad we're still getting any new material at all. There's plenty of other exciting bands and albums to listen to in the mean time anyway. We've had some great B-sides for the two singles so far and what the hell does what's released as a single matter? I'm sure you've got the album, that's all that matters for us fans. I'm sure every Oasis fan has fav songs that were never released as singles, what does it matter? In fact, most of my fav Oasis songs are b-sides. As for Noel's comments about the new album and writing, mate, we're a long way into tours and promos now - take everying Noel says with a pinch of salt. Bought the new single on Monday - best a-side they've released for a long time and Pass Me Down The Wine is a cracking b-side - still a lot of point in liking Oasis if you ask me.

1) The new album is one of this years top three releases, if not the best.
2) They're still the bollocks live, and the long gaps between tours makes them even the more sweet when they do come around.
3) If I turned my back on Oasis now it'd make me the biggest fucking hypocrite in the world.

I would rather wait until 2007-2008 and get another DBTT than rush things and have another HC in 2006

I have mixed feelings on this. I do hate waiting an extended period of time for an album, but that's the way it goes. Oasis is pretty much on the same pace as U2. If I'm not mistaken Pop and Be Here Now were released a couple of months apart, Heathen Chemistry and All That You Can't Leave Behind were fairly close and now HTDAAB and DBTT within a couple of months. Nobody give U2 a tough time. The major difference is U2 is a little more in the public eye with casual music fans(in America). So people tend to forget about Oasis a bit in their gaps between releases. I don't expect a quick follow up to this album, but I'd love to see one if it is done well.

~cos there is not alotta quality new music coming out these days in my book,,,so i have no choice but to keep liking em... ~remember also that oasis is more than just a band, it is embodied by many other things - style, attitude, coming together to sing OUTLOUD... ~accept the other fact that are gonna make music that suits them, that sounds oasis in their mind and fuck all the rest..they will continue to do things on their terms... another reason i like em and will wait.. ~in the meantime, travel back in time for good quality tunes... later dude...

(oh, they also released a live dvd from THAT tour too!) but you're definitely right about our boys.

I'd like to see a new album in early 2007 at the latest. They've claimed to have had 60 songs from the DBTT sessions. They shouldn't have any trouble coming up with another solid release.
