Friend of mine used to be one of all the sheep that likes the RnB and hiphop rubbish, but she's beginning to move away from that towards rock...so that she is guided to one of the greatest forces (if not greatest) force in rock, which track should I use to show her just how great Oasis are (bearing in mind she has already heard Wonderwall and likes it, naturally)? I tried Rock n Roll Star, and granted she hasnt heard all of it yet, but for some unknown reason, she didnt like it too much (hopefully that will change once she has heard all of it) Any suggestions greatly appreciated PS As a judging point/taste marker, she thinks Green Day's 'When September Ends' is a great song ( )

I think that Turn Up The Sun or Lyla would be a good place to start...

Live Forever, I've turned 3 "yeah Wonderwalls a good song but other than that they're a bit shit" people into "omg omg omg u have to get me tickets to their next gig" kind of people through getting them mad on that song and forcing them to buy Defo Maybe.

Most people have heard DLBIA, CS and Wonderwall.
Slide Away and The Masterplan have worked for me. I play those 2 for people and they are blown away.

give her this 7-track 'sampler'
1 Acquiesce 2 Go Let It Out 3 Cast No Shadow 4 Don't Go Away 5 Stop Crying Your Heart Out 6 Live Forever 7 Let There Be Love
friend of mine wanted to explore the oasis catalogue beyond WW, DLBIA and CS... i sorted her out with that short "sampler CD" and it got her hooked instantly
give it a go

i'd say if they heven't heard anything other than the hits on MG then go with live forever or slide away or supersonic or cigs and alcohol, nothing less than the best of DM

My opinion is that you shouldn't try to convert her and let her rot in hell for not liking rock in the first place....BUT if you really wanna help her out...Whatever, Stand By Me, Supersonic, Slide Away, DLBIA and something else, probably Acquiesce. Unless she prefers music she can dance to....

well i think it really depends on what other kinda music she likes... the songs i that i've noticed that girls almost always like besides wonderwall are dlbia, whatever, songbird, roll with it, she's electic, scyho. also so far on the new album llab seems to be a good choice too.
i would think slide away would be a good choice too though.
if she likes loud music then definitely acquiesce. also remember that dykwim has a hip-hop dum loop in it, but i wouldn't think this is a good song to use to try with someone new with oasis.

It depends their taste. A friend of mine LOVED cigs and alcohol but hated don't look back in anger. Everybody in the US knows Champagne and Wonderwall.
Another friend loved half the world away. It came on and they asked who sang it because it was a beautiful song.
