New one isn't quite as polished now that Marr has left, but I still think his influence is noticeable, while it's a bit 'rawer' now they're back to just the three of them.

It's on the top of my "must" list I'm also really looking forward to the long waited new Cat Power album which comes out in September. Love and adore that incredible woman!

Really pleased to see Tribes make this list! Love those guys, one of my favorite albums of the last few years. I got lead singer Johnny into a gig at SXSW. Door security wouldn't let him in and didn't recognize him. Johnny owes me one

Best two albums so far this year for me are by Beach House and Japandriods. They are head a shoulders above everything else right now. Bloom is up there with Teen Dream which is one of my favorite albums of all time. Japandroids prove the rock isn't dead and their songs hit you in the face with their raw angst but the lyrics hit you in the heart.
Beach House-Bloom Japandroids-Celebration Rock
A couple other impressive albums The Men- Open Your Heart Spiritualized-Sweet Heart Sweet Light The Walkmen- Heaven (Expecting a bit more but the walkmen are consistent as always) Chromatics-Kill For Love Purity Ring-Shrines Alabama Shakes-Boys & Girls Cloud Nothings-Attack on Memory Best Coast-The Only Place (expected more but still a nice batch of light pop songs) Schoolboy Q- Habits & Contradictions The Cribs-In the Belly of the Brazen Bull Metric-Synthetica

Finally got those two albums: The Belly Of The Brazen Bull - The Cribs Orkney Symphony Of The Magnetic North - The Magnetic North
Elias, I like the new Cribs album. I think they might have been a bit "milded", but you can definitely hear Johnny's influence and like you said, some tracks are "good old Cribs" since they're back to 3 pieces now. The final track of the album is brilliant!
I've mentioned The Magnetic North on here before. They're formed by talented Erland Cooper and Simon Tong from Erland and The Carnival and a brilliant singer Hannah Peel.
I'm a huge fan of Erland and The Carnival. I've discovered them at London Calling 2 years ago and Their first album was my best of 2010 together with "High Violet" by The National. This album which came out earlier this year is absolute one of my most favourite next to "Valtari" by Sigur Ros. Both albums are truly beautiful.

Channel Orange is incredible. Pyramids is one of the most intriguing pieces the genre has produced. Also it has some of the most honest lyrics as well.

To be honest, I don't think it's as amazing as some people say it is (Pitchfork....) and it's inconsistent in the middle, but there's so many stand out tracks it's hard to dislike it. Like in the aforementioned Pyramids, for example, I really enjoyed the first half but the second half was just okay. I think Fertilizer into Sierra Leone into Sweet Life is such a great triple threat, Bad Religion is great, and Andre 3000 kills it on Pink Matter. Apparently Big Boi was supposed to be on that track too, amazing to think Ocean would of had an Outkast reunion on his album!

It teally only focuses on the album for a paragraph or two. That awesome Big Boi was supposed to be on there. Outkast reunion needs to happen. Mainstream hip-hop needs them at this point.
