hey just want peopels opinions on andy bell, zac starky and gem archer.
Well i just think oasis are just not oasis anymore. I think the style of songs that have been written since sotsog have been not the oasis style of previous albums and i have a strong feeling this is down to the members in the band.
By the way zac starkey has to be the worst fuckin drummer oasis have ever had. smash samsh samsh smash. even toni mccarrol was better. Man he is so shit he soent even play molst of the songs right. terrible its like a kid on pots and pans.

It's like a lot say-- How can Oasis songs not be Oasis if Oasis mae them?
And, no, you know JACK SHIT about drumming if you think Tony was better. Zak is a wonderful drummer.
And I liked the classic lineup-- just because it was classic and it's what they were in their glory days. But they evolved. The core is still there-- Noel and Liam. But they got some superior musicians surrounding then. I like their songs too-- they'd be better than Noel filler material like she is love or put yer money.
Speaking of SOSOG. Why the fuck did Noel Choose Put Yer Money and ICSAL over songs like One Way Road and Let's All Make Believe? I can guarentee that would have changed the albums whole vibe and rating.

I happen to think they are all top-notch.
I think that TUTS and KTDA are two of the best Oasis songs ever...
Seriously man, how can you expect a band to be 7 albums deep and sound EXACTLY the same as they did way back on their first couple of albums. Every band changes/evolves eventually... Take a listen to the Please Please Me album from The Beatles and then throw on Abbey Road. They couldn't be more different. Doesn't even sound like the same fukking band... but last time I checked, the line-up was still John, Paul, George and Ringo on both. Just because The Fab Four changed their style over the years, did that make them any less great at the end. Of course not.
BTW Mr. Starkey BLEW ME AWAY at the end of Rock N Roll Star on this tour. Just my opinion, though

The one member of the band that wrote the songs back then is still here, so that's not the reason. Oasis has changed in many ways, they're still the best band in the world as far as I'm concerned.

bonehead used to annoy me with his guitar performances it was a bit of 'nothing more nothing less'.. guigsy was a nobody who probably preferred to play his base guitar backstage... tony was an absolut laugh, I like Alan, but he didn't seem to fit in oasis for some reason, his haircut to blame... Gem and Andy? fuckin great musicians, great haircuts, great style on stage, made oasis better! love them! and Zak is just ace, but didn't hear him talk in an interview or whatsoever, very curious!

They were going to change the sound whether their lineup changed or not. Bonehead and Guigs were still there when Noel would've written all or most of SOTSOG because they were just going in to record it.
Their sound had to change after Be Here Now because anything else would've made them instantly look like aging rockers trying to relive the good ole days. Just the fact that they're still putting stuff out after BHN has people looking at them like that, but now they have more respect because they changed the direction.
And anyone that doesn't play drums themselves or at least had a band shouldn't be talking about Andy, Zak, or even Tony.

And anyone that doesn't play drums themselves or at least had a band shouldn't be talking about Andy, Zak, or even Tony. You don't have to play in a band or play any instrument to hear the difference of sound between DM and DBTT. And I think that is part due to the arrival of Gem and Andy, not only because noel wanted a different sound. But it all seems naturally to me, the music evolved, some members didn't or did not had the ability to do so ( now THAT could be a reason that Bonehead and Guigs lleft the band!) so there you have gem and andy....

Of course Oasis don't sound like they did 10 years ago, they're obviously going to evolve. Doesn't mean they're not Oasis, they're Oasis 2005. As someone who has followed them from the beginning I can honestly the band has never been stronger. Tighter group in the studio and tighter live. There's no way Noel would've been able to carry on without Gem and Andy, he'd probably be a nuthouse by now if they hadn't have joined. Gem especially has made Oasis much stronger. He's helped Liam along with his songwriting and he pulled Oasis through the 2000 European Tour when Noel walked out. Also Eyeball Tickler is a mega b-side and A Bell Will Ring is the stand-out track of the album if you ask me. Gem's an absolute legend - "Gem's the rock on which the new Oasis is built" Noel Gallagher.

you'll have to excuse me if this points already been made, i freely admit i wasn't arsed reading any of the posts
but gem & andy have been in the band 5 years, longer than this website is old, not exactly new member stuff
oasis are essentially, and always have been, Liam & Noel... the others are cool and all, but it's always all been about Liam & Noel

I think the additions of Gem, Andy, and ZaK have sparked some life into the band. Noel has allowed for more creativity out of them because they are great musicians. Bonehead and Guigs were good but they played what Noel told them to play. Anyone session guitarist or bassist could have done what they did. The old guys were instrumental in the Oasis sound but they did not add or detract from the band. I think the new crew brings some assets to the band. Just my opinion.

I wish people would stop calling Andy and Gem new, they have been in the band for 6 years! Bonehead and Guigs were in Oasis for about 8 (not including Rain)... so 3 more years and they totally have it on Bone and Guigs. Anyways its a sheer fact if Bonehead and guigs were still in the band, Oasis would not be here today. Andy and Gem breathe new life into Oasis.

Gem is my second fav member after Noel. The man is a living legend. I love Heavy Stereo and his style of guitar is great.
Andy is also top, as it Zak. If you try to put a supergroup together in your head with people from different bands it's hard not to just pick Oasis because each member is so talented.
