Sort of a new song using some part of IIHAG, but mainly those lyrics. Fair enough. I would like to know, if that's the case, why this is considered a collaboration. Doesn't seem like Noel is doing much. We don't know that for sure, he doesn't talk a lot about this collaboration so it's hard to know his involvement in the process. He wasn't happy with the mix and wanted to be more present to that, it shows he's concerned. I can't see Noel saying "do whatever you want with my song and I'l release it". If he released IIAG I think it's beause it was the result of their work together.

That doesn't necessarily mean he's playing a big part in this collaboration. I remember an interview where he stated he recorded guitar parts for the album, but I honestly can't imagine Noel writing most (or any) of the music featured in either of the tracks.

would be a major disappointment if he doesn't release the album just because he hasn't got the balls to do it

Is the new b-side going to repeat "shoot a hole into the sun" 85 times, too?

It wasn't a remix of IIHAG though What was Shoot a Hole Into The Sun, then? An entirely new recording. They didn't just take the version of IF I HAD A GUN from the album and remix it, Noel and AA recorded SHOOT A HOLE INTO THE SUN from scratch. It remains to be seen if this 15 minute version of WHAT A LIFE was done the same way or whether they've actually done a "remix" of the HFB album version. It's probably a brand new recording and the term "remix" being tossed about is simply sloppy journalism.

Thanks for the heads up. I've ordered it too.
I was hoping for a numbered version again but to be honest I'm a little wary of ordering from the official NG store after their attitude to the damaged Dream On sleeve they sent me.

What happened I was going to get a numbered version but they don't ship out the numbered version to Canada, I tried with Dream On, so I just order from recordstore site now, my unnumbered vinyl would be lonely if I'd gotten the numbered one this time

I don't think there will be any exclusives after they gave away the badges with the Dream On order. Maybe a numbered vinyl but that'd be it. Thanks for the heads up. I've ordered it too. Townsend wouldn't take responsibility and referred me to Topspin. They said it was down to Townsend as they were the UK distributor. Townsend were really rude and it ended up the girl from Topspin had to get them to refund the costs, I was raging but the girl was helpful and cool about it.

AKA… What A Life! (The Amorphous Androgynous Remix)
I'm surprised it isn't called 'Ride The Tiger' or something else, considering their IIHAG version was called a different name.

I think it will be like the Falling Down and Paul Weller's Aim High / Pieces Of A Dream AA remixes and be broken into separate parts. You will probably find "Ride The Tiger" is one of those parts just as the first 7 minutes of the Falling Down mix is the actual AA remix and the remaining four sections are the AA taking the song into other territories.

So it's officially a remix then, implying the source material is from the same sessions as HFB, rather than a new recording with the AA. Interesting.
If this truly is a new remix, his relationship with them can't be that bad.
