Hope you guys don't mind me posting this which links to part of the history of Oasis... Chris and Tony Griffiths played a big part in the early days of Oasis and the sessions leading up to Definitely Maybe and the Real People continue to release great tunes to this day. I know quite a few Oasis fans are interested in the band but they have never quite got the publicity their music deserves.. two new releases have come out this month their original 9 track demo tape has been remastered by the Griffiths brothers and is available exclusively on CD for the first time at www.townsend-records.co.uk/product.php?pId=30001173&pType=1and their '2nd' album which should have been released 20 years ago this month but never saw the light of day as they left Sony / Columbia has finally been released - the classic Marshmellow Lane - which again can be found exclusively here www.townsend-records.co.uk/artist.php?artist=Real+Peoplei write this just as a long time fan of both Oasis and the Realies and hope just a few more people grab a copy of both albums and continue to spread the word. both releases are signed by the Griffiths brothers Cheers.

Thanks for the info! Will have to check these albums out, as I've only heard a few tunes by the Realies.

Chris and Tony Griffiths are such unsung heroes for the early years of Oasis. Helped Noel out with songwriting, getting contacts, and recording demos. Great guys and very underrated in the music department.

Chris and Tony Griffiths kindly contributed the following Q&A to my site recently, in which they provide some additional background detail on the making of Oasis' Live Demonstration tape. There's also a link to an earlier interview on this topic they gave to MOJO magazine at the bottom of this page: www.oasis-recordinginfo.co.uk/?page_id=544

Not sure if this is the right topic to post this, but I thought one of you guys might be able to help. According to a Mojo interview found The Real People's site, Oasis' 'Rockin' Chair' is lifted from a Real People song called 'Growlin' Old' (which I assume is a typo for 'Growin' Old', though I could of course be wrong). Was this song ever released? Or perhaps released under a different title? I can't find any other mention of it anywhere online. I checked the tracklists of these new releases but it's not on either. I note that 'Feel the Pain' (the song to which 'Don't Go Away' bears a strong resemblance) is included on Marshmellow Lane. Interview: www.officialrealpeople.com/news/index.html'Feel the Pain':

The Realies are so amazing. They taught Noel everything he knows and basically wrote Definately Maybe. It's strange that they've not troubled the charts in 20 years.

The Real People did truly help out Noel a lot. But they were clearly one level of songwriters, while Noel was another. And Noel's ceiling was clearly higher.
