MADNESS! I think it's great. Finally a track with a bit of soul to it. I can definietly hear the U2 influences that NME have been reporting today. If you stripped it back to an acoustic guitar it could have been on achtung baby!

They made many songs with "Origin of Symmetry" feelings in "The Resistance", like Unnatural Selection and MK Ultra, and I see many people talking this is boring.

Bands should just write an album that people like and then release it over and over again, I reckon. Perhaps they could switch the order about a bit, or throw in a USB stick and a t-shirt and call it a deluxe edition.

Madness is a very different song, considering just Muse songs. Hard to enjoy, but now that I "understand" the intention of it, I'm listening everyday.

To me, MK Ultra was the best song in that whole clusterfuck that was The Resistance. Survival and Unsustainable -a.k.a. Unlistenable- are annoying. Dubstep is fucking atrocious. Madness would fit perfectly in 1997 U2. and although I love U2's Pop, it's not what I expect from Muse. |

Unsustainable is great to me. Excelent instrumental (choir and Matt's voice) and the dubstep in chorus sounds awesome. Survival is great too, but the lyrics are terrible. Think this song should be an Olympic Single, but don't being part of The 2nd Law.
Madness is nice, but isn't Muse. Like you said, eva, it's not what I expect from Muse.

oh I like it, really cool and epic, not saying I don't like it!
it's just that overall, I don't like the album as a whole as much as I like what came before it. I haven't heard the new one yet so wait and see but I will now admit something pretty embarrassing... I remember my first listens of "black holes..." and did not like it a ton... I know, right, I'm blushing!

Radiohead they are not. King of Limbs had some good, albeit somewhat boring, dubstep influenced songs. This new Muse song is... bad. Perhaps they should of listened to more than just James Blake and decided to call it a song.

I'm not against bands changing, but of course when they do it's at the risk of losing some of the fans they gained in the first place. It's almost impossible for it not to happen. This new Muse from The Resistance onwards I really don't like. And it's not because I don't want any change, it's because this particular change I don't dig.
Gladly, we can all go back to Stockholm Syndrome or Plug In Baby any time we want.

Madness it's a nice ballad(i think) but not material for lead off(?) single from an album of Muse.
Survival =shit
Unsustainable was nice untill it reached the Unsust..unsustainable part.
