Just been watching some videos of the Sao Palo gig....The crowd were singing along to all the new tunes, even LTLSAL! Just wondered if anyone knew how well the album had done out there, sales and chart position wise?

I think it's one of those places where piracy means you have to play gigs to make any money.

They shipped 7K in three shipments to Brasil. The last 2K fairly recently.
I'm inclined to think piracy is a big thing as well.

In poor areas like South America you're never going to get big sales.

It's not only because we live in a poor country. It's a way of living. I know people who spent 2400 pesos (that's almost 550 USD) for one ticket for Roger Waters and they have all the Pink Floyd discography downloaded illegally. They are not poor, at all. When I bought all the singles and the album from Noel, one friend told me I was stupid to spend so much money on something that we can find easily on the internet.

But it's true... sadly you can't find Noel Gallaghers/BDI records on my city.

But in Argentina, for example, NGHFB was released the last days of October. And it cost 50 pesos, that's 11 USD. People here spend more on gigs and less on CD's.

Album sales are poor over here aswell, but it's not just in the case of Noel Gallagher. Cds are expensive so are the concert tickets. I spent R$783,00 on Noel's tickets. That's 407,60 USD. For 2 concerts!! But people pay what it takes to see their favorite artist. Tickets in the US and in Europe are way cheaper than here.
