www.live4ever.uk.com/2012/04/latest-smiths-reunion-rumours-denied/Yet another rumour denied. Though it got me thinking whether at all it could ever come about? Morrissey continuing to struggle to find a record deal (god knows for what reason) and if The Stone Roses comeback is a big success, does it give added incentive for Morrissey to come round to the idea. But then again, The Stone Roses never took each other to court, and Morrissey is a very stubborn man. I'd be massively sceptical myself about them performing again, but even though, I'd be first in the queue to buy tickets! Ideally, I would love to see them reunite with each other rather than reform - like a documentary for example. To see them all together in a photo again would warm the hearts of everyone without risking their legacy.

I get the impression that Morrissey's a very wealthy man. I think The Stone Roses were around a few years before the top rock bands became seriously rich in this country and they're at least partly back to claim the payday they feel entitled to. That's probably not an issue for Morrissey.

The Stone Roses got ripped off throughout their entire career (or at least the parts that mattered), so it's only fair they get their dues. Not to mention there was always the feeling that they could of been more than they turned out to be before they called it quits. I really don't think it's the same for The Smiths.

What happened between Mike Joyce and the others? I don't know too much of the drama between the smiths, apart from Andy Rourke's problem with heroin.

I don't know too much of the drama between the smiths, apart from Andy Rourke's problem with heroin. unpaid royalties...from what i remember when they signed the rough trade contract when they first got signed..Morrissey and Marr got 40 percent each of royalties from the albums and Andy and Mike got 10 for just being the rhythm section...fast forward to 1997..mike and andy were becoming broke from alleged unpaid royalties and he got into Andy's ear and told him "we have a strong case let's take Morrissey and Marr to court to get a higher percentage of all the sales from the albums", well Morrissey and Marr lost the case because Morrissey couldn't really prove that that it was fair that they got only 10 percent of all sales and how it was all unpaid and Marr from what i remember didn't care about the case he just wanted to pay the unpaid royalties and leave..but during the case Andy dropped his suit against Morrissey and Marr and filed for bankruptcy due to his friendship with Marr..hence why he played "how soon is now" with him..but Joyce continued with the case and won and got i think the same equal percentage as Marr and Morrissey. But the court orderd Marr and Morrissey to pay Mike all the money they owed him..i think it was about half a million i think...Marr paid Mike all the money but Morrissey didn't and to this day i still don't think he has...he moved to LA shortly after the case "allegedly" to avoid the payment.

Johnny once said when he was asked "How do you feel about The Smiths splitting?", "The way we had to split was the saddest thing ever happened to the band"

Thanks for filling me in! That's always so sad when things tear apart like that.
