so i've spent the past 2 hours watching Noel interviews from this year. and i am amazed at the absolute crap these interviewers ask.

every single interview has had the questions:
"will you speak to liam"
"so how is being solo different to oasis"
"where did you get high flying birds from"

Are these people for real?

Noel isn't going to turn around and give these interviewers information on his music. he's going to wait until they ask him. why do they ask the same questions EVERY day?!

why do these people never ask questions like,
"so when will we all hear a studio recorded freaky teeth"
"what's the new music video for"
"what's alone on the rope for"
"will we see LTLSALOM or ASGOG in the setlist ever"

every knows that if we ask noel a question he will give us an answer. we really need someone decent to interview him, someone who actually gives a fuck about his music.

think about how many answers we could get from him with 5 minutes of decent questions ...

Magazines don't care about LTSALOM or ASGOG or about something like Alone on the Rope. Chances are they've never heard of them. The average magazine/music website viewer doesn't care and asking about Liam generates headlines which sells papers and generates web hits.

They don't ask those kind of questions because if Noel is going to release those he will announce them eventually. I'm sure he'd be tired of saying things like "I can't announce anything at the moment".

A) Because the journalists are generally writing for their audience. Their audience hasn't read a Noel interview so to most of them these answers are new. They are doing a basic interview for the masses. A site like L4E would ask the questions WE want to know...but the average magazine/site isn't looking to satiate our curiosity about small stuff.

B) because they are lazy. They don't bother to research. They could research the answers and put that info in the intro...but then they'd have to spend the time looking for challenging questions that have never been asked and they can't be bothered. It's easier to ask the obvious ones.

C) Some of that may not have been decided. (Freaky Teeth release) Or isn't publicly being acknowledged yet pending off official announcements (the next single). Or is a useless question (what do you mean "what is AOTR for?" It was a German amazon special...what more could he say?)

The interview with Mark Lawson was one of the best Noel Gallagher interviews I've ever seen (even if it didn't address the more fan-obsessed questions you noted that we'd all like answered).

You're right though, the rest have been pretty average. Noel is always a good interviewee but the actual interviewers seem pretty clueless most of the time.
