Hoping to leverage the extensive music knowledge on this forum Does anyone know what this song is? I know its Something in the air, originally by Thunderclap Newman but who did this cover version? I've been trying to find this version for around 15 years now, hope someone here can help me out! Thanks

i can't listen here at work, but i'm willing to bet it's the version by the lightning seeds.
see if you can locate a snippet of that version online (amazon perhaps?) and see if that's the one.

Sounds like Ocean Colour Scene to me.

Either Lightning Seeds or Tom Petty.

Almost certain that's Ocean Colour Scene. No idea if it's commercially available though - think they recorded it especially for the advert.

I know its definitely not the tom petty version, I've heard that it was done by OCS but the only evidence I have for that is wikipedia and I haven't been able to find any other mention of it... I'm pretty sure its not the Lightning seeds.... It could be OCS and it does sound like them, but really? they were so hard up for a gig in the 90's they decided to do a cover version for a technologically flawed satellite telephone system?

Jeez, I had only ever heard the Tom Petty version. Noel Gallagher totally ripped this off in Sunday Morning Call.
