I'll start a new thread here, as the thread about them in the Noel section is clouded in immense negativity.
I just downloaded both of their albums. Have to say, I do like them. And I do like The Man Who Can't Be Moved - incredibly catchy chorus.
Although it makes sense for the Oasis fanbase not to like them - they are too polished and produced. Very similar to Maroon 5, albeit with a bit of Travis thrown in.
That being said, why do some people on here loath The Script but like Travis? Not the perfect analogy as they are closer to Maroon 5, but regardless, it's the same kind of soft rock. Why the double standard?
I know TheExperience, UGHF, and Ginger likes The Script. Any other followers?

The Script are bland, nothing interesting, in the words of Simon Cowell "forgettable music". There not even remotely close to Travis. I'm going to think of a reason later.

They're nothing new, to be sure. And I'm not one for most mid temp bands (Don't care for Coldplay since post-AROBTH, don't care for Keane, Maroon 5, or The Fray, etc). But The Script have immensely infectious chorus' And The Man Who Can't Be Moved has Travis written all over it (Think along the lines of Closer).

Absolute vaginawank.
The fact that you positively compare them to Maroon 5 and Travis tells it's own story.
Don't let the fact that they hold guitars fool you; they are Westlife.
The lead singer is also now a judge on the latest shitty talent show in the UK as well telling you all you need to know about his credibility. From what I've seen of that he is as bland as the music he makes.

I don't see any comparisons with Travis personally. The Script sound like a very polished boy band with boy bandish dull melodies. Travis have much better melodies, are less 'pop' plus Fran Healy is a much much better singer than that guy.

Definitely a boy band and they're nearer to Westlife than they are Travis.

Travis are shit, The Script are worse.
NL4E is just an idiot or a 12 year old girl.

I've always thought Travis were pretty horrible, just another one of those bands riding on Oasis's success. The Script are just plain trash though. hate that people deem this as "rock n roll" when it is clearly pop.
