I think oasis should have changed their name when they released Heathen Chemistry. The bands sound and what not changed alot thanks to Andy and Gem, and that record really sounded like a debut album, and Don't Believe the Truth is more like their 'difficult second album' than oasis's sixth.
But nevermind. I was wondering if anyone knew if Don't Believe the Truth is looking to outsell Heathen Chemistry? From what I can tell it doesn't seem to be charting quite as well as HC did... But that can also depend on how well the opposition is selling I suppose... anyone have an idea?

I like your assessment of the band's current dynamic, it kind of sums up a conversation I was having with my mom who thinks dbtt is fantastic but never really enjoyed the older stuff (DM, WTSMG, and espicially BHN.)
But if you need to compare the two I think dbtt is a million times better than HC, the tunes are stronger, production is smoother and they sound more comfortable with Gem and Andy

I'm slightly confused why this was moved to this forum... but anyway, I guess no one has any idea how the sales are comparing?

I'm not sure I believe such figures... I've never read anywhere that Definately Maybe had sold as many as 15 million. I thought DM was more like 6/7 million, because that album never took off overseas like it did in the UK.

The facts are logical because many people in Europe have DM and WTSMG. In the beginning DM didn't do big things global. But after the succes of WTSMG, people did buy the first album. That explains the growing sales of that album over the years.
