I went to the o2 arena and i have to say it was one of the worst gigs i have been to. Not because of Noel and the band but because i turned up (maybe naively) expecting the experience i have had at all the Oasis gigs i have been to. It became obvious i was at something completely different about 30 seconds in to It's Good To Be Free.
It was the first time i have been forced to sit down at a music concert, ever. What made this worse was i was seeing Noel Gallagher! I woudn't have minded if i was being forced along to watch fucking Take That with my girlfriend. This is Noel Gallagher! I was sat towards the back for one night at Wembley with Oasis and everyone was stood up singing along and genuinely having a good time.
But at this gig i was surrounded by 40 year old women who dressed like they were still 18 getting pissed and awkwardly rubbing up against their impatent husbands. They knew the words to Dont Look Back In Anger and that was literally it. It was awful. I think the night would have been saved if the sound quality was any good in the the place, but it really was a "soul destroying venue" as the Chief once put it.
Where have this crowd come from? These aren't Oasis crowds. These are casual fans who have jumped on the bandwagon. Just another reason in a long list to bring back Oasis.

The response to this thread was overwhelming. We all await more of your musings.
