Why would Noel release an album track as a b-side before its release?

Because it's not gonna be on the album.

As I've said before, it's a teaser. We know what to expect from the album now.
It's the last single of HFB, the AA album won't be released untill 2013 and the songs was played at gigs anyway. So it's just a teaser for the AA album.
It's unusual because I didn't think he would mix the two projects, but he has his own label they can do what they want.

He has confirmed it will be.
As for releasing it as a B-side before the album the same was done with Columbia and Up in the Sky.

in times where people downloading not the whole album but just a couple of tracks, there's nothing wrong with releasing it as a b-side

The simple fact is we don't know for sure yet either way.
Noel has said it's on there and it is representative of the whole album - but then he originally said it was 18 tracks before changing to 13. It doesn't have a track list - we don't have even one other song title. I don't think the final track listing is actually set in stone yet at all...

Which is the only reason that I'm not getting GIMH to change his avatar forthwith. Since this one is already done my bet is that it is a lock for being on the album. I think the only way the tracklisting changes again is if they aren't able to bring comething up to scratch so something is dropped...but this one is already done. It'd be weird for it to be left off at the this point...unless there is an issue with the timing of the album and they need to leave something off and figure it might as well be the one they have already released

I WAS looking forward to the AA collaboration... then I heard Shoot a Hole into the Sun. I have a feeling I'm gonna be disappointed by the album when it finally drops.
