Well, Noel has said in interviews that they have another albums worth of songs that are just as good as the ones on DBTT if not better (but when has Noel ever said that his songs suck before they're actually released). I'm not saying you shouldn't believe him, but it's hard to tell whether he's serious or not. I'm sure that they won't want to release an album really soon after the tour, because they'll want some time off. Also, they might decide that they want to scrap those songs and write some others because the time for those songs has passed or something. I can't see that happening if the songs are actually that good, but you never know.
"The Bare Buns Of The Baboon" sounds like a pretty good title to me.

the way they been releaseing albums over the years you'll be lucky to see another album before mid 2007 proabably later which is a shame

Noel said they would take a break after the tour, then travel to the 2006 World Cup and then get back to the break. I think mid or late 2007 if all goes well.

Personally I would love for them to do sort of a neo-shoegazing album. Given Andy Bell's experiences with Ride, how cool would a dark, spacey Oasis album be? You know - it would still clearly be a rocking Oasis record, but with a clear shoegazing influence - some spacey jams, white noise, etc. Maybe give the album sort of the same vibe as "I Can See it Now."
Of course, it would require some ambition. As great as DBTT is - and I think it's their 3rd best - it is not an ambitious record. It's virtue is as a laid-back record that is experimental but not adventurous - rather, it's Oasis doing what they do best, experimenting with different musical styles but not forging a new style. And it works great for DBTT, but I'd like to see something different in the next record. And something more innovative, more ambitious would be grand, especially if it's on a new record company that gives it heavy promotion in the U.S.

well, mid 2007 it's not that bad, yet I hope that they will compile faster this album and early 2007 is also a option. after all they scrapped an entire album of the "DBtT" sessions, so they should be able to make another record in a mere 2 or 3 months recording.
January 2006 - Oasis finish their tour and taking a break; July-August 2006 - They are the World Cup; October 2006 - Back at recording sessions February-March 2007 - New Oasis album

Personally I want somthing out rather quicker than that.I would like for it to be a show of a variety of songs.Songs that are like DBTT (such as TIOBI or POTQ or MF) plus some roasting rock anthems like (RnRS or Don't Look Back In Anger or Champagne Supernova).
Kings of Leon are you just jokin when you say what you said. I like the name though.

Mid 2007 would be really good. but then i would have to wake up from my dream. they do have alot of recorded stuff...but they'll write new stuff. we'll prolly see Stop the Clocks...and that might even be the album title coz that's what Noel said this one was gonna be. but then it was questionable whether it would make the album...and obviously it didn't. but whenever it comes out i think it will be fantastic and i think a good title would be "Don't Stop Believing." or maybe that would be a good song title.....but that's my opinion i guess.
- cheers !

I'd love to see the album sooner than that, but as a lot of you have already pointed out, Oasis have been producing albums a lot more slowly now than since 1995. Mind you, the material post Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants has been incredible. I'd also like to say that the album won't likely be called "Stop The Clocks" cos, as Noel's said, he doesn't like calling albums by a track name cos it puts too much of a spotlight on that tune. I'd love to see a new album by October 2006

Well hopefully they're going to release one of the gigs from this tour on dvd (and cd too maybe) to tide us over until the new album, since they have been recording all of these concerts for that purpose.

They may take the Southhampton show, I've heard. I think it'd be pretty fucking ace if they took Toronto (where I saw them), though it was the first show of the tour, so it likely wouldn't make it.
Even though they have a lot of new material with DBTT, I don' think that they will bring that out into a new album as Radiohead did with Kid A and Amnesiac. I'm hoping that once they're off the tour for a while that they'll pen a few more tunes, and, given that there are four ace songwriters, they could bring together a lot of work pretty quickly.

Well, They say that now they are more of a band than ever, and Noel isnt the only contributor to the songs, they could probably get one out sooner rather than later if they so wish. But the way they have always had about 2-3 years break since Morning Glory, I would say 2007 is the most reasonable guess, and i don't know if i would like to see one sooner, as I hate bands that have 4 Albums in 3 Years and have a new single out every few weeks, as they just look like they are cashing in, where as Oasis must be past chasing money by now

There's definitely a point to the moderation, Keane!! I agree completely, but part of me says that it shouldn't be insanely difficult for Oasis to pull off another album for 2006

ive heard rumours about a new oasis release. These are the best ones all true and no shit. - A live cd of the concert from knebworth in 1996 as a tenth aniversiary edition - A live dvd of one of the concerts off the current tour rumoured to be one of the manchester gigs similiar to familiar to millions - A live cd relesed of the manchester gigs bit like familiar to millions and thats the best that would be recent
Noel has said in the past that he will release an anthology of oasis one day but he doesnt like th idea of a greatest hits caus ehe believes that would mean the end of oasis.
cheers

Noel said in an interview that the Death in Vegas sessions would probably be released as a box set. Hopefully it will be released sooner rather than later, would love to see a new live DVD released soon aswell.

He was saying something like 'you might see the div stuff released some where down the road...' I think he meant it like how Nirvana has material still be released many years later. I don't think its something that anyone is thinking about over at Big Brother right now... Perhaps a DVD concert will be on the horizon though from this tour!

Next album? NEXT ALBUM?? The second single isn't out yet, and already we're talking about the next album??
I've said it somewhere here before, and I'll say it again — if we see another brand new studio album from Oasis before 2008, I'll be stunned. I'm betting the most we can hope for is a live DVD in mid 2006. I also think we'll be seeing a "best of" compilation in late 2006, just in time for Christmas. "Stop the Clocks" will be one of the two obligatory new tracks bands seem to put on their "greatest hits" these days. Yes, I KNOW Noel has said he doesn't want to do a "best of," and I applaud him for that, but I think it's inevitable.
I don't really think we'll see a second b-sides compilation, either. The b-sides to "Lyla" were good, so things look promising for the other singles of DBTT, but does anyone really think the b-sides off the singles from SOTSG and HC are quality enough to deserve their own compilation? I think there are some good songs, but there are maybe only two or three I would recommend to anyone who wasn't a die-hard Oasis completist.
As for the boxed set… I think Noel was being facetious (and I think I spelled "facetious" wrong). I'm sure there will be a boxed set someday, but I hope it's not for a long, long time.
