You know there's a presale for BT customers running from tomorrow until the general sale, right?

I'm very jealous, hopefully they follow up with an American tour.
New Order and The Specials opening too is fucking massive! Amazing lineup.

Blur is over, and no more Gorillaz. Really sad interview. www.guardian.co.uk/music/2012/apr/07/damon-albarn-gorillaz-heroin-blurSo no more Blur records?
"No, I don't think so."
And will you play live again after Hyde Park?
"No, not really."
This is even bigger news. So that's it?
"I think so, yeah," he says. A little later, he goes on: "And I hope that's the truth: that that's how we end it. I don't know: you can write scripts, and they always end up going… [pause]… well, one thing I've learned, and I'm sure you're exactly the same, is that everything I think I've got totally sorted out, and I know exactly what's going to happen – it never works out that way…"
So how should I put it? That in all likelihood, this is the end of Blur?
"In all likelihood, I would say. [pause] Oh, God…" Will there be more Gorillaz music?
"Er… unlikely."
Really?
"Yeah."
That's a shame. Do you feel you're done?
"Jamie does, which is fair enough. I think we were at cross purposes somewhat on that last record, which is a shame. So until a time comes when that knot has been untied…"

the guardian interview that's taken from is a great read, really in depth good music journalism touching on subjects not done much in these sanatized pr-led days. makes me want to go to hyde park if that'll be their last - but they're also doing some scandanavian festival too I think, which makes it weirder... elsewhere in the interivew damon says he finds it hard working with dave & alex because they're not "daily musicians" anymore - maybe he's trying to publically prod them... anyway, quick shameless link plug to a new blur bootleg in the wild today - www.idcmusic.com/IDC-parkmanors.html

I was really hoping for another album by Blur and an extended tour to US. Looks like that's out the window. On a positive note: This will free up Damon's schedule to collaborate with Noel. I know. But a guy can dream.

So, no more Gorillaz and Blur? What Damon will do now? Sad news. He is already making other stuffs. One quote from the article: A self-titled album by Rocket Juice And The Moon has just been released: the work of Albarn, the renowned Nigerian drummer Tony Allen, Michael "Flea" Balzary of Red Hot Chili Peppers and a diverse supporting cast. In the role of producer, Albarn has just finished a record by the soul icon Bobby Womack. He is also starting a new solo album.

This is the 9th time Damon's said Blur is over so you never know. Also, Dave Rowntree just said " don't believe everything you read in the papers", could be anything but it kinda gives me hope.

But not with that price. That's actually a bargain!! - Vinyls are worth about £15 each. - CDs are a tenner, but these have added discs, so judging by the Radiohead re-releases, they should be priced at £20-25. - The book, if you bought it by itself, would be worth at least £20 judging by Muse's recent tourbook, £30 if you consider it documents an entire history. But let's say £20, to be fair to them. - £8 for a DVD is fair, I'd say. There are three of these. - A 7inch single is £5, but this is a rare collectable. Still, let's say £5. - And four discs of rarities would be at least £10 each, surely. All in all (7x15)+(7x20)+20+(3x8)+5+(4x10)= 105+140+20+24+5+40= £334. In conclusion, it's a steal.

There are two different boxsets, CDs and vinils. I'm definitely getting the CDs even though I've already got every album. Still it's got like more than 3 hours of unheard material and legendary gigs like the Singles night at Wembley and Showtime in 1994, high quality mp3 downloads... Also there's a chance Under the Westway will be on it

www.metro.co.uk/music/897126-damon-albarn-blur-and-gorillaz-arent-finished-yetAre Blur and Gorillaz both finished? No. That comes from an article which was an interesting take on a very long conversation. I don’t know how we’ll feel when we play Hyde Park. Some days I feel one way and other days I feel the other. If you don’t see something as a career but as an important part of your life, you don’t know how you’re going to feel about it. We want to put on a great performance but nothing’s been said between us about the beginning or the end. What about Gorillaz? When Jamie [Hewlett] and I have worked out our differences, I’m sure we’ll make another record. Will that be difficult?I don’t think so. We’ve been through too much together for it to be that big of a mountain to climb. We’ve just fallen out like mates do sometimes. I’m not the only person to fall out with mates and then make up again – everyone does it. [/i]
