This is really the only NGHFB track where I get the distinct notion it was made for Liam. Noel does the impersonation, even, with:
"Baby buh byeeeeeeeee-yaahhhhhh"
Don't get me wrong, Noel does well on it, but the Liam hallmarks are all over this song, with the elongated notes and vowels, with the line above, and the "me" and "my" and "gone" and "one" parts, too.
This track has Liam written all over it.
One of my favorite tracks off the album, though. It has some energy and passion from Noel, good lyrical content, catchy, and sinister - although I wish it was a bit more so.

I have the same feeling with EOTR, especially the line in wich Noel force his voice to be rougher (like Liam). The first line of the songs screams Liam to me.
Same thing on RM, with the 'shine' and 'waste'.
Same thing on dream on with the "Drreeeeaammmm on" chorus.
And exactly like you on Stranded.
Those four would certainely have been sung by Liam if released in Oasis.

I agree that Liam would have probably sung SOTWB but I don't think he made any song for Liam. He just wrote the songs, did the demo's and then figured out if it would suit Liam's or his voice better. Well, that's the an innocent theory I'm sure there was a bit of 'fuck it, I let him sing the other good one, I'll do this one' and as we know he didn't always get the decisions right.

I heard it the minute I heard the chorus. Brilliant song, though. Love it, my favourite on the album

Liam couldn't sing dream on unless he had someone yank on his genitals every time he had to hit the high notes.

Liam could probably sing the chorus of SOTWB but there is no way he could he the verses. The verse is not hard to sing at all. His voice would have gone perfectly on it. He couldn't sing TDOYAM but that's another story. He could easilly have sung every others trakcs in HFB.

If Noel struggles with a tune then there's no way that Liam could have sung it. Physically impossible I mean.

I could imagine Liam singing on RM and EOTR.
Weirdly enough I don't think Liam has more power in his voice to SOTWB. Noel puts a lot of power behind the "oh me on my" bits. I think Liam's voice either may be too wispy at this point in his career or if were to be able to do it, he'd literally have to yell/shout those bits out. Probably could have killed this song years ago, but I think you could say that for any song.

Bt Noel is ok on SOTWB, I miss Liam way more on EORT and RM because I think Noel copies Liam's singing in them.

While the "oh me oh my" bit requires him to hold a few notes. "and ohhhhhh me ohh myyyyyyyyy". That's not the same power imo.

BTW thats not a jab at him, its like how Noel wouldnt be able to pull off FLW like Liam does. In all honesty the only song I could imagine Liam on from Noels solo stuff is The Good Rebel

am i the only one who has never listened to NGHFB without thinking about Liam?
I like Liam more than Noel but its Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds and they are all Noel Gallagher songs and Liam will never sing them. simples.

SBAJF would be great with Liam singing it like he does on She's Eletric.
IIHAG with Liam would sound pretty much like IOT: "if I had a gun... if I'm to fall..."

a simple game of genius.. just imagine liam singing that This. Also, I think he would've sung in EOTR, IIHAG, DO, RM, TGR, and STOTWB. But ASGOG with Liam would have been even more epic. It would have reached CS status.

If Liam couldn't sing the high notes in WAL and SOTWB then the key would just be changed to suit his voice and his capabilities. Liam could sing SOTWB with it's current arrangement anyway.
Pretty simple really.

Pretty simple really. Agreed. But WAL would have been hard still. It's a song typicaly for Noel, like BA or TDOYAM. Every others songs would have been epic with Liam. So much regret....

Half of the album was written with Liam in mind.
