didnt noel once say to be the next oasis, a band/artist cant try to be oasis? Also i agree with the above posts that its not impossible but highly unlikely that we will see an alternative band reach the heights that oasis did right up until the bitter end due too how diluted the music industry is in its present form, Will that change? I really hope so but I fear the worse.....Its becoming more and more difficult for alternative bands to stand out or to even be given a chance to prove themselves these days and Im talking from personal experience here. Im connected with a band UKREIGN and we supported Viva Brother in Glasgow and it was literally a case of "how the fuck did that manufactured boy-bland get to where they are and not us?" Its sad but its true....... TIME FOR CHANGE!!!!

Hi mate, I agree with the above post, and i also think any band trying to be oasis will also fail. There are many bands doing just fine, but struggling to break through to the mainstream without spending a shit load of cash on PR, radio plugging, marketing etc. That's why we have quite a lot of middle class bands around at the moment, because they can afford it. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with being a middle class band, but bands on a shoestring budget do struggle to get recognised, and its not about lacking ability, i've seen some amazing bands around Leeds who really ought to be more well known, but struggle with funds.
