Yeah, seeing as that shitbag Terry has lost the armband for a SECOND time, who do you think should be new captain? I just nicked the answers from TalkSport's poll, then added an "other"...
I think Parker should have it.
Gerrard, Lampard, Cole and Ferdinand are past it Rooney (and Cole) are wankers Barry and Cahill just aren't captain material Joe Hart is too young and inexperienced... Plus, he's not even an amazing keeper...
Perker is the obvious decision for me, he's a natural leader. But if he doesn't get it, I'd have to go with Gerrard :/

Stevie G is really the only contender, I feel. Jack Wilshere has captain potential, though, but is still just a lad.

Yeah, considering Gerrard is one with more international experience, plus he's wore the armband before (plus im a reds supporter lol)..........the natural choice is Stevie G.

Stop voting for Gerrard. He shouldn't even be playing for England any more, let alone captaining them.
And before I'm accused of bias I'd say the same thing about Rio Ferdinand.

^^ Not what you said in the top post:!!
" I'd have to go with Gerrard "
Alot would depend on Stevie's fitness, for the short term until and including the Euros, id still choose him atm, i can certainly see the case for Parker though, i still wish we'd have signed him, but he hasn't been back in the England team that long, before we could pick from lots of contenders, now.......

^^ I said that, as my second choice... Only Parker deserves it, I think... But Steven Gerrard is the best of the worst

While we're on the topic of England players, The Ox deserves a place, much more than Walcott does, mind.

joe hart, ashley cole & wayne rooney are the only players that baring injury or suspension will play and rooney is suspended for the first games ashley cole won't have the public backing so i would have hart as captain.

It will only be a short term captaincy probably anyways as Fabio is going after the Euros, should be more considered after that,
Great point by John Motson - There wouldn't be all this crap about the Captain if Capello would have had some bollocks and NOT reinstated Terry as Captain in the first place...

Agree with the lot you said there. I'd say Parker as I think he should be automatic choice for England in itself. Goalkeepers shouldn't be captains I don't think. Rooney is suspended so Parker is my choice. After the Euros, when Harry is in charge, there is no way Terry will be captain. Could be Parker then as well. Saying that Terry should never have been reinstated, Ferdinand should never have got it either. Should have been Gerrard from the bloody start!!!
