Just back from the Enmore theatre.
What can I say but it was beyond my expectations. I was half expecting an avergae show after what Iv'e read about his early live shows-
But it went off as they say, an old cliche but it was just magic.
Honestly better than Iv'e enjoyed oasis shows, After oasis there was always a bit lacking but he just out did himself.

Yeah, I've just been on twitter and there's been a lot of praise for Noel for that show, and it wasn't just Oasis fans. So you're not the only one. It must have been a great night out. I heard that DLBIA was especially special. Can't wait to hear some of the bootlegs from this show and hopefully some good footage too. Glad you had a great time.

Yes it was brilliant best Ive seen him and oasis.
What surprised me was the crowd.
A lot of young 20 somethings (I mean at least a third) I was expecting mostly mid 90's oasis die hards but hes got a youing following.
Base on this his next album could go stellar worldwide.

That sounds great, can't wait for Melbourne. Was it the usual setlist?

From the things I've been hearing, it seems as if Noel has been doing extremely well at all the Big Day Out gigs. If he can approach the rest if the festivals like this then he could really start to expand his fanbase.

So do I! The fully seated nature of The Palais venue might make for a slightly more restrained feel. I'm glad the Enmore was, by all accounts, a barnstorming success- the crowd certainly seemed amped. Those more intimate venues with his true fans are where he shines (to use a well worn Gallagher lyric). Despite his conservative stage presence, Noel does respond positively to a genuinely vibrant crowd (his banter for one seems to increase). It's good also to hear that there was a portion of younger fans.
Although Noel's BDO performances have been regarded by most reviewers thus far as positive and professional, what I've read has been underwhelming. He doesn't seem to fit in terribly well with the 'BDO ethos'. By that I mean he isn't of the 'here and now' when it comes to the type of music that's currently in vogue at (what is trying to market itself as) an overtly 'youth' oriented festival. Some reviewers have taken the usual snide and sneery approach by writing about Noel's down the line rock music almost as an afterthought. Others have claimed his crowds were very sparse with one even patronisingly saying 'poor Noel Gallagher'. He's in an odd position in that many consider him a heritage act with a new album. It seems a bit like the position Neil Young was in at the BDO a few years ago but on a smaller scale. Oh well, a 'sparse' crowd in Melbourne will mean that I'll be up the front and well away from Kanye West and for that my eardrums will be eternally grateful...

Enmore gig, was fucking amazing, I've got a pretty good quality video of DLBIA but trying to work out how to upload it (samsung phone, apple computer not liking one another). But such a good show, Half the World Away was fantastic, EOTR as well, ok everything, think I was scaring people when I was screaming the words to Freaky Teeth, such a good tune!

There's a woman showing her tattoo (she had "Noel Gallagher" on her wrist !) to Noel between Dream On and If I Had A Gun. Just found that she's a friend on my FB page. Crazy fangirls!
